Just love coming for the hot breakfast buffet to Blue Peter Hotel. Bacon, sausages, beans, tomato, chicken or fish, mushrooms, toast with butter and jam AND 2 egg omelette with cheese, tomato, onion and ham. All this for only R110. A coffee or tea and a juice included. You cannot beat this daily breakfast with some of the best views in Blouberg. Janice and Rachel will treat you like royalty every time.
This is one of the best spots for a sundowner during summer. The beer selection is great and it is always cold. The food choices are really wide. My favourite dish here is pizza and beer. This place can get crowded very quickly so get there early.
Such changes over the years from a pub where we would rate the beauty of the sunset to an over tourist commercialized attraction. We enjoyed it but the good old days atmosphere and comradery ship is missing. Many people don't know where's it gets its name from but it's because of the frequent Blue Starling bird with the brown under its wings and different from the Green Starling bird which has yellow eye's, not black, and doesn't have any other colour. The blue ones tend to be more bold and cheeky. Good hot afternoon with umbrella wooden beach and tables seating. Wonderful view of Table Mountain and seashore. Limited but very acceptable menu with pricing flavoured for the tourists. Nearby activities: In Bloubergstrand so beach accessible, kiting and walks along the promenade. Walkability: Safe to walk on the promenade through Bloubergstrand and very built-up area its become. I noted a distinct lack of trees.
I'm hoping it's just a fase but last time when the family were there for some drinks and pizzas, something quite out of character happened. Their food quality was really bad. We saw people around us also being furious about the food quality. So it wasn't just us. The poor waiters were left to pick up the pieces of a kitchen falling apart at the seams on a day that wasn't more busy than days where it was extremely busy but the food quality was great. The food isn't cheap so one would expect them to take extra care when preparing your food with their time proven love for making good food. What also was a bit of a shocker, the pizzas took very long to arrive. Again one does not mind waiting but at least make sure the food quality is good. Take it as constructive criticism. Hope you can recover where you have strayed from the path of delicious food making.
Pizza is nice, and the price is not bad, but I have had better for cheaper. Alcohol is expensive, and hamburgers could do would with a gravy of choice. The view and atmosphere however is tops and a must experience.Service: 5/5
One of my favourite places to eat, I brought my parents here for the first time last Friday as they were visiting from the UK and the service we received from Danal was exceptional, she was so efficient and friendly some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. The food was amazing to especially the Lamb Curry. Really amazing experience will definitely return. Food & drinks: Food was amazing
We ate at the restaurant only. The staff is always friendly and considering how busy they get over the festive season the staff remain friendly and attentive to their customers. The cheese platter is amazing, there's such a big variety and it's really a lot to eat for 2 people. The view, as always, never disappoints.Service: 5/5
Visited the restaurant. Lovely setting, has a deck for outdoor undercover seating. Food was nice good service. Delicious wood fired pizza. They serve seafood, burgers and desserts. Pleasant experience. Great wine list, beer and ciders on offer. Can get very busy during weekends and holiday period.Service: 4/5
Fraud. Poor service. Average food. Excellent view. If there was a zero stars this would be it. You're welcome to contact me for further information.
Food was really nice and fresh. I has an open omlette. The topping was really good but the egg was thin and dry. Maybe it could be made in a smaller pan so it is thicker and moist. Topping was great. The other breakfast were super. Service was just super slow and not attentive. No knives and forks. Doubled up on jams and butter.
