Brewers Co-op in consists of 14 talented brewers, each with their own tap at the bar. We have a diverse range of award winning craft beer and craft cider.
The Brewers Co-op and Common Room bar in Cape Town was started by 14 brave and hop hardened brewers and 2 creative gurus who are involved in the social structure of the co-operative as well as the designed space of the bar.
We have a wide and forever changing selection of small batch craft beer and craft cider, all brewed onsite in Woodstock, Cape Town by our members - which makes for a diverse selection of approximately 16 different beers that are on tap at any given time.
As a co-operative we stand for:
1. Good Beer at a Good Price. Our beers range from as little as R20 per pint up to around R38 for our most expensive imperials. That's WAY cheaper than any other craft beer being served ANYWHERE!
2. Doing It Yourself (DIY). This speaks about our mentality as craft beermakers. We make our beers from scratch using the best ingredients we can find - often picked from our own gardens - and it's all about producing high quality and unique beers in small quantities.
3. Working Co-operatively. The members of the co-op are not full-time brewers and our professions vary from dentistry to DJing and from accounting to design. Together, we have all the skills required to make the Brewers Co-op a fully sustainable business, PLUS, we share a common love for hand-crafted beers of all styles.
