As people who went through the process ourselves we focus on assisting others through it
It was scary:
For me and those around me when I was diagnosed.
When I was lying in isolation and receiving chemo.
When the world moved on while I was stuck fighting for my life.
When I heard I have to get a bone marrow transplant.
When the side effects of the treatments started coming through.
But through all this there were people standing by my side, some who I never expected to be there, some who I didn't even know before the cancer and some who went through the process and came to give me hope.
That is the goal of this group:
To show people that there is light on the other side of the tunnel. To show them that cancer can be beaten. To sit by them while they suffer and motivate them to keep getting up every morning.
In essence to help them find hope and peace when inside them there's a storm brewing that is so deep and dark that no scale can classify it.
We are not there to help cure the patients, there are brilliant doctors for that. We are there to calm their mind and soul so they can look toward the future once more.
