The CPFPA is an association established by landowners in order to co-ordinate efforts to prevent, predict, manage and extinguish wildfires.
The CPFPA aims to contribute to community development by eliminating loss of life and human injury as a result of veldfires and by progressively reducing the risk to property and the environment, while promoting the useful role and necessity of veldfires in this biome. The CPFPA deployed this strategy throughout its area since it's establishment in 2002, and intends to consolidate and reinforce the lessons, recognising that there are constant new arrivals in the area and communities are constantly expanding to accommodate the influx.
To protect the community and our environment, we will minimise the impact of fire by sourcing training of the highest standards, provide community education with our partners and continually improve prevention and operational capability.
All members will be obliged to draft standard integrated veldfire management plans for their property submitted for approval by the FPO within three months of joining the CPFPA, and these plans are to be progressively implemented within five years of such joining
