Centurion Licensing Department

Was there for 3 hours to collect my driver's licence. After asking to speak to the manager 2ladies came and collected our forms, they came back no license I asked when we must come back to check if they had the card I was told in her language to f off. We phone sms and received no response from anybody. It is a DISGRACE. No control on staff and civil service

Made the mistake of leaving work a little early, arrived at 15h00, sorry, doors were closed. The doors close around 14h10 so that they can finish off with the clients inside. The next day I arrived at 14h00, in time. Went there to transfer the vehicle from the financial institution on to my name and pay for the licence renewal as well. Yes, there was a queue, but only 5 deep, not to bad. A lady asked if she could assist, was a little uncertain - she had no name tag or such. Just as well, the financial institution sent the incorrect document, I had not bought the vehicle from them, only transfer of ownership. Would have thought they would have known better. Filled in the correct form, handed them in and processed in a jiffy, paid a small fortune, fortunately, they do take credit cards. Processed the trailer licence at the same time, two birds with one stone, great. Overall, quicker than I anticipated, place is a little rundown, could do with some decent signs and queue barriers. The original vehicle testing section see attached photographs is looking very derelict. Cannot believe that they cannot root out the corruption which occurred there.

What a pleasant surprise I received. I almost used a 3rd party to register my car and I thought ag let me just do it myself. Already prepared myself for a long queue and experienced the exact opposite. From the people working at the gate to the people working inside, fast and friendly service throughout. I received a form to fill out, as I was filling it out, a guy came to me and asked if I required any assistance, which just blew my mind. I was in and out in probably less than 30 minutes. Thank for the awesome service centurion licensing department.

I went here on the 7th October 2022 to renew my license. I made my booking around a month before that on the government site, which was rather painless. On the day of my appointment I arrived early just before 08:30, even though my appointment was only at 9:30 ,and it was as expected from what a normal license renewal process should be: I went to the gate, filled in some forms and waited my turn in a seated line for an eye test. The lady who assisted me was on her phone the whole time. She was rude and apathetic. I endured my 10 minutes with her. She took my photo after the eye test and directed me to the teller. After that I went to the teller to pay R228 by card, there were 2 people in front of me who were assisted rather swiftly. When I finished paying the teller said that I had to be back in 6 weeks. I was out of there before my appointment was even supposed to start, which was cool. Flash forward to today 24 November 2022. When I got there around 9:30I handed them my POP and waited an hour before they called me to sign off my new license. Photo is atrocious. 6/10 experience will go again in 5 years.

Lol booked online, took leave from work to come pay my booking fee and write learners same day, this is my second attempt right. I booked online. Exipry date was 2023-03-17, was prepared to pay today and write at 13:00 Came at 09:18, filled in the forms, had everything ID copy, went to till 20. Gave him the filled in forms. He checked the system apparently, said I wasn’t there. He printed a form that showed the date of 2022. showed him my booking and he was surprised. He Checked again and said I wasn’t on the system asked to help explain the situation better and he went on his phone, waited for him to finish with the phone call to explain he didn’t bother to o. So I just went home with the documents and disappointed. I am still confused about why I wasn’t on the system though?

Pathetic service. Went to get a vehicle registration certificate. No helpful people to assist. Was told to join 3 queues by cashiers which were the wrong queues. Wasted an hour and half. Very frustrating.

The day started with system offline and when I eventgot to the front of the que I was faced with a ride cashier who told me I was in the wrong que, who then sent me to a lady who told me to go to Johannesburg to sort out my query. Really appreciate the atrocious service.

Great service under the circumstances. Just note even though online booking facility says eye test is optional, they'll ask about it there and you look through the machine and play games, if you fail they send you to the eye doctor. Otherwise really efficient service.

My son passed his learners, been sitting for an hour already whilst they are chatting and having KFC instead of working, absolutely ignoring everyone waiting to be helped. What a so typical new work culture in our government departments. And if you complain your document goes back to the bottom of the pile to be spiteful.

They are slow and not professional, I renew my prdp 02/17. They said it will be out in 4 weeks, it’s June 5 tdy it’s not out yet. Horrible place go to other department
