From the time we landed in Sabi the whole experience blew us away! From being collected at the airfield we saw our first elephant up close in 5 minutes! We have safari’ed before but the intimacy and abundance of wildlife in Sabi is like no other! The Big Five were easily ticked off and how close we got to the beautiful leopards was unreal! Deon is amazing!! There is nothing he doesn’t know about the wildlife, the terrain and the stars!! His passion for Africa and its inhabitants is infectious! We were blessed to have him guide us. Chitwa Chitwa lodge and the team surpassed our every expectation! Small and intimate and so exquisite! Being woken up by hippos laughing in the lake 20 yards from our sun deck still makes us giggle! The level of service and the quality of the food and cocktails were first class and every member of the team were so attentive and engaging! There is no way we will not come back to this magical place!
Our stay at Chitwa Chitwa far exceeded our expectations! We were traveling with friends and our suite had plenty of space for all of us. Rooms were clean and checked/restocked often. The food was incredible and had options to choose from at each meal as well as snacks, tea and coffee before and during the game drives. The wildlife didn't disappoint either. Elephants, lions, rhino, giraffe, zebra, hippos, leopards, and more were all showing off. What made our trip the most memorable though was the team. Daniel and Beth were the best guide and tracker. They're very passionate and fun! Nelson and Pinkie were so kind and kept us well fed and well stocked on drinks. The whole group really showed us some of the best hospitality I've experienced.
April 2023 We just returned from a fabulous stay at Chitwa Chitwa with a group of 8. Still absorbing the incredible experience both within the property and on the trials. Yes, we ticked off the big 5 on the second day of a four-day stay. Food and drink were plentiful and of a very high standard. The staff were so friendly with our tracker Moses and guide Deon providing exceptional insights about the animals, vegetation, and trails. Can't thank you both enough you made our trip. Note 2 members of our group had visited more than 5 parks across the region and they rated this as one of the best experiences. Five stars all around for Chitwa Chitwa. We recently returned from our visit to South Africa and could not have imagined a better experience. It truly blew our expectations out of the water. The lodge was immaculate and hospitality was first rate. Daniel and Beth formed a memorable Ranger/Tracker duo and the lodge staff Ami, Pinkie, Nelson, among others were incredible. We will be returning!
Magical.!! It might just be the greatest trip we’ve ever taken in our lives. The staff were very professional and accommodating. The lodge was beautiful. And the animals!! The lake nearby was filled with hippos. We saw everything you would hope to see on a safari and more. Our Guide and tracker were amazing. I can’t express what an unforgettable experience this was for all of us. Our group was aged 75 to 11 and everything in between. And we all agreed that this place could not have been better! Chitwa Chitwa holds a special place in our hearts. We can’t wait to go back.
My husband and I stayed at Chitwa Chitwa for our honeymoon and we had the most beautiful and unforgettable experience. We stayed for 5 nights at this phenomenal property and I couldnt have asked for a more romantic and relaxing getaway! The service was exceptional and the staff made us feel right at home. I must admit that although I have had a few game drives in the past, nothing comes close to the adventures we had at Chitwa Chitwa. Our guides, Dylan and Ranson really went out their way to give us a unique and rare wildlife experience. I absolutely loved it! I also treated myself to a couple spa services, which helped me unwind and recharge. Great experiences, delicious food, outstanding service and facilities, what more could you ask for! We are grateful to Chitwa Chitwa for helping to make our honeymoon an experience we will always treasure! Chefs Kiss
Simply amazing—was the best experience. Food was incredible as were the game drives. Dylan and Ranson were the best guides. The hippos in the lake outside the lodge were amazing to see time after time. Would love to go back!
Weekend stay @Chitwa. Incredible scenery made possible by Chitwa Chitwa. Truly an unforgettable experience in the heart of Sabi Sands. Our guide on our Safari drive was exceptionally knowledgeable of the patterns and habits of the animals. We were also fortunate enough to have seen a beautiful leopard on the second day. We also had drinks next tot he water. Unreal feeling being surrounded by the bush and having a cold beer. To the staff, thank you for making this trip even more special. Till next time.
We just returned from a fabulous stay at Chitwa Chitwa! Saw the Big 5 numerous times plus a cheetah on the hunt and lions after a kill. Room was gorgeous, spacious, clean. We loved sitting on the deck watching the animals come down to the watering hole. Food was great and dining experiences were unique. Daniel and Beth were our guide and tracker. They are awesome -- super knowledgeable, passionate about the wildlife, and funny. Staff goes above and beyond to make your experience truly one of a kind. 10/10!! Planning to return soon :
The best experience of our lives. It has left us spell bound. Everything about our stay with Nico, Heidi and our guides/trackers Surprise and Sofiso, was beyond real. Shout out to Piwa and all the staff. Only been home 7 weeks and have arranged another stay. If there is a heaven on Earth, this is it.
