I have been in the yachting industry for 9 years as a captain - conducting training, yacht deliveries etc. Obtaining visas for crew and speaking to someone at a visa centre such as this one has never been so professional and easy. I am of the opinion that this is one of the best consulates I have ever dealt with! Well done to all at this office. Great service. Thank you!

Sadly can't comment been trying for 6 weeks to contact them. No one even answers the phone or replies to emails.

Always had fast and efficient response for required documents

It's feels weird to rate a consulate but I've had the pleasure of dealing with the Consulate General of Italy lately on very, very personal terms and they have been spectacular.. they have handled everything with such passion, speed, precision and honest concern that it's a hard realisation on how little the South African government is actually able to offer good service and show any depth of concern to their citizen's needs. I've been helped by Valentina and if I could give 10 stars based on her alone, I would. You're in good hands if you have to go to this consulate but I'm sure anyone who does, already knows this.

I needed a copy of my marriage certificate and confirmation of registration of my marriage in Italy. I sent an email to the consulate and received a reply, with the documents attached, within two hours. I couldn't believe how efficient they were. What a pleasure!!

The guy at the switch board is VERY rude and unprofessional. This is my second encounter. A couple of months back I thought he was just having a bad day and let it go but for someone who is the 1st line of contact of the company, that's unacceptable behavior. I tried to ask a few questions and he cut me off with answers that had nothing to do with my questions. Its a pity because the consultants who assisted me some months back was professional, efficient and polite.
