I was fortunate enough to experience the 5 course food and wine pairing. My wife and I enjoyed every thing we tried and the wines complemented each dish well. The staff were very attentive and friendly.Service: 5/5
We visited the restaurant for restaurant week and tried the 5 course meal. The courses were average, the starter was the best for me, it was langoustine however my husbands scallop dish was a tiny piece of scallop on the shells, that did not deliver. main lamb rack under seasoned and over cooked, dessert was called chocolate affair and very disappointing, ice cream icy, with the biscuit extremely hard and very difficult to break through with a spoon. The service was the worst part, we arrived at 7 and only left at 10 due to the service being slow and painful. The waiters are inattentive , poor etiquette when speaking, drinks took ages to arrive, and we had to remind them twice we are ready to order and during the courses I had to request they speed up . The Response was that they had a group of people at the conference side who they were attending to and food was going to them first, which is actually unacceptable given our service should also be prioritized. Lots of other tables were also unhappy with the service standards and food quality. This restaurant lacks ambience and should not be classified as a fine dining restaurant. Over priced and underwhelming.
Quaint spot for intimate dining or small groups. I was slightly uncomfortable with the waiter asking for his tip to be paid via ewallet and not with the rest of the bill. I had the pleasure of meeting the head chef, very energetic person. Their bathrooms are clean and use foot sensors at the basin which was lovely to see.
Hotel is set in a very tranquil area just off Jan Smuts avenue. Rooms are all suites with living and sleeping area plus balcony. However personally it could do with an update as rooms are dark and in a style seen in the 1990's. Everything works and as I say its peaceful but was disappointed by the interior. Great wifi and back up generator. If a Marriott Bonvoy member don't expect recognition or perks of your status Rooms: All suites. Spacious with balcony. Decor dated and a bit dull
Lovely atmosphere. Chef Ross is very passionate about food and providing something unique. A great fine dining experience. All the dishes are delicious. Loved the bubblegum cheese cake.
Excellent service, especially from Emanuel. As we drove in being greeted so warmly by security, from the managers, to the waiters, to the amazing chef. What a fantastic experience!!!

Excellent boutique hotel with large rooms, although the bathrooms in particular are somewhat dated. The restaurant Winehouse on-site is excellent and reasonably priced.
We recently hosted a work conference here. The staff were extremely helpful and super friendly. We enjoyed the food, the conference venue was spacious and tge restaurant service was great.The garden is also so lovely. The only issue we had was the clarity of the projector but other than that, a really great venue!
