A lot of equipment and machines. There are a lot of safety precautions taken which is good.
A wonderfully tour of diamond mining process. It's a journey worth experiencing once in a life time. Your are under land for 763 meters...woow the lift going down at a great speed for almost 5 minutes and you are there into tunnels. Taking you to the heart of the mine to see the process. Worth going to see the exploration to the nature's best gift to the human kind. The security is good in terms of going beneath the surface of the earth. Be ready to walk for alteast 4 to 5 kms. From point to point and at a time there would be around 5 kgs of weight tied to you heaps. Sorry friends no mobile phones or cameras allowed. Just the guide taking your pics for memory. That's too only few. But it's worth while
This was an excellent tour. We learnt so much about the history of diamond mining in SA. I definitely recommend doing this if you are in Cullinan. This was the highlight of the time we spent there. Our guide Kobus was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions we had.
I was extremely disappointed with the underground tour. George, our tour guide, was extremely grumpy and not people friendly at all. He was whispering "ag yisis" under his breath whenever we didn't understand anything. I would rather go with the surface tour. Our surface tour guide was much more friendly and I learnt more with the surface tour than with the underground tour... The underground tour was also cut an hour short for some reason?

Gorgeous little town with lots of interesting things to see and buy. Worthwile spending a day with family or friends. Many restaurants to choose from. Piacere Italian Restaurant...best pizza and pasta ever. Will definitely go back!
