My mom purchased 2 samosas on Friday and was assisted by Nomvula Not only did my mom only receive 1 samosa she realised once she got the car she was CHARGED R109.90!!!!!!!!!
Visit this store when we need a spice fix of some masala or spices. Huge variety of both Indian and Asian spices. They also have a take away menu for curries, roti rolls, bunny chows and samosas. I haven't tried the food but have ordered their samosas. They are good. I also like to buy their butter biscuits and sweetmeats from them. Burfee and jalebis are good. I don't find gulab jabs often though. The biscuits that I bought this time around was extremely fresh. Enjoyed them. I saw that they had puri patha in stock. The cooked ones this time. Great store. Friendly staff
Wish I could give zero stars as I was trying to order a bunch of different samosas for my office and every time I asked for another flavour the cashier with the gold tooth would laugh. When I asked why she is laughing she said she’s not laughing. I ended up cancelling my order. The service is shocking and the staff are rude. Would definitely not recommend this place. Rather go to smack pizza next door
The have a wide variety of Samoosa's and they are really delicious. A wide variety of curry ingredients.
Samoosas taste great. However, clients are being treated rudely and I've caught the staff twice gossiping with vulgaris comments about clients. Overall poor business ethics practices. I even received samoosa purposefully finger squashed by one of the employees. 0 Star not possible I will never buy there again.
Being a Durbanite, I was in Johannesburg for a week and was craving a real Durban Bunny Chow. Stumbled across Spicy Den. Tried the lamb bunny and it was excellent. The curry was flavorful, soft potatoe and perfectly cooked lamb. It ranks up there with the best bunny chows in Durban. Whenever i am in Johannesburg I will be eating here. Cant wait to try the rest of the menu. Definitely give this a try.
Unfortunately although the meat in my lamb curry was nice and tender, there is no way this could be termed curry. It was just stew, definitely not cooked by an authentic Indian cook, lacking in the subtle complexities of the delicious spices sold in the shop. Have tried three times over three months: lamb biryani, lamb bunny and lamb curry&rice, each time is different but all like stew. So disappointing because we are originally from Durban and unable to find anything close to Durban curry on the West Rand
Ordered HOT Lamb curry on the bone, no rice, and 2 samoosas. Never got the samoosas, Curry very tasty, but not hot. Was charged for samoosas, had it removed from account. Owner/Manager very friendly, offered samoosas free of charge. Not taken. Will give it a try again when we in the area.
We ordered food telephonic ally and referred to the special on the Mr D App. We were told it applies to all orders. When we got to the shop to collect pricing differed when we questioned them the owner was called. He told us I store pricing will always differ it is just they way it works. Very rude and not willing to listen, will not support that business in future
This cute little spots needs to work extra hard on human interaction. I came in for takeaways this may not be something they do often and asking for salt, pepper and a plastic bag was like drawing blood from a rock. And the dismissive lady who made my coffee, please train your staff not to get short with people
