I went to Game Greenacres to look for a specific phone after trying numerous other shops. They had stock of the phone and I was helped quickly and efficiently by friendly staff. I previously had similar experiences when looking for appliances. I like the new sleek look of the shop. It's a pleasure shopping there.
Do not buy appliances from Ryan he lied about having stock. I purchased a hisense fridge only to be told they dont have stock and I waited 2 hours in store to get a refund. Pathetic services, then they tried to refund me at a lower amount than what I I paid pathetic services. Pathetic staff
No prices on shelves or items for most of the stock in sports/outdoor department. Having to stand there and check prices of items online on our phones is ridiculous. In some sections there is a pole sign up saying R499 and on the back it says R299 amongst random items. The staff are nowhere to be seen except for one young guy kicking a soccer ball around. I asked another assistant for the price on the pile of boxed gazebos on the floor, she mumbled she "thinks" it's R1299, and says she will check. I never saw her again.
Game has over 100 stores in South Africa and is known for "the best deal in town" if you get the same item at a cheaper price then Game offers to better that price. I have put this to the test and they definitely made it worth my while to buy the items in question from them. Pensioners get discount so if you're 60 plus then do consider buying on Pensioner days which most major reatailers offer on certain days so just find out the day at which every shop you're buying from however Games stores have theirs on a Wednesday.
Went to buy a freezer only for the girls in black tshirts, who work for yal, tell me its all sold out,no stock of any kind of freezer at all. Instead they direct me to makro. So i Phone baywest game store and surprise, there are freezers. Bare in mind, they share the same warehouse. Lazy and pathetic service you have in your appliance department. How many sales did they not just direct away from your store? Its my 1st and last time shopping at that Game store.
Good variety of products and some discounts, however environment may be a little dirty and claustrophobic. Staff is friendly and willing to help.
Got all you need. However, returning items are a frustration.
Went to buy a TV. Had to go back home to fetch relevant documents fine, we understand this. The problem arose, that we waited forty minutes when we returned. There was only one person dealing with TVs on a Saturday afternoon a pay day weekend. They made me go pay. I took the extended warranty. I was told it was for four years. My invoice was for two years at a different price. No apologies given. The people in front of us were trying to buy the same TV as us. But every TV they pulled out of the box was damaged ! There was about eight open boxes put to the side because they were all damaged. Eventually they get to us, this is over an hour now. "We don't have any more TVs". The special was still running for another two weeks. So we asked about the next shipment. They refused to tell us or listen to our question. We were then offered another TV for the same price but it wasn't a SMART TV. The person couldn't understand why we wouldn't take this TV. Then I had to try and get my money back. The person at customer service told me they couldn't give my money back. Only in vouchers. I had to argue. They just swiped my credit card for over R5000 and now wanted to give me a voucher. Eventually someone else came to reverse the charge on my card. Will NEVER shop here again.
The cashier added an item worth R299, & the security signed it off. Do I have to scrutinise my slip every time I go shopping? Is that the level of trust of I can afford Game staff? Because if that's the case, I got better places to spend. I eventually got the money back, but that was after I'd followed up an email with a phone call with a half-an-hour visit to the store, because Game's email system just so happened to go down the day before I sent the email. Why should it cost me the inconvenience of chasing you down & waiting for the money that was never yours in the first place?
It's the best place to shop during this country lockdown.. You can find anything from grocery.. House hold
