Description

Deep South - the name given to the almost hidden, furthest part of Cape town in South Africa. It's nature-loving and quirky inhabitants cluster around the beautiful coastline of the Cape Peninsula, and two of them - Steve Erlank and James Copeland - teamed up to form Deep South Distillery.

After discovering that they shared a passion for shiny metal machines that create great tasting spirits , they decided to join forces rather than compete in the small arena of Kommetjie and Noordhoek.

James , an electronic music producer and DJ, focusses on rum whilst Steve, a retired lecturer and business whizz focusses on gins and vodka with a botanical influence from the Cape fynbos kingdom.

Together they`re hoping to make the world a better place one drink at a time.

"A fully operational micro distillery creating award-winning artisanal spirits, including gin, rum and vodka. We are open for fascinating distillery tours, delicious spirits tastings, sales and events. We are a popular destination for visitors to the Cape Peninsula, who are looking authentic experiences that are welcoming, friendly and relaxing, and we have a constant stream of local people popping in with their empty bottles for a refill of gin or vodka, or simply to spend some time with friends enjoying one of our signature cocktails. We have limited space, so bookings are requested if you are looking for tours or a tasting experience. We try always to live up to our tag line: "Making the world a nicer place, one sip at a time" ."
