Situated with amazing views, Den Anker, provides a combination of Belgium/Dutch Food with sights of Table Mountain, sea lions and the general harbour. The service and food are well, but the main attraction to sit here and get a drink are the views.Food: 4/5
I have been coming to Den Anker for years, and the quality of the food is always top notch. I generally go for their mussel pot, deliciuos!!! Plus the coffee is great and served with a yummy traditional Belgian biscuits, Speculoos. Let us be honest, nobody could never fault this view either.

Loved the set up, views and excellent service. The food however was just average. Mussels were good, nothing special. Prawn bisque was nice but my preference is a cream base. The wagyu burgers were tasteless.Food: 3/5
I thought this would be a touristy food place, but I was very impressed with the quality of food and drinks. The grilled shrimp in the garlic butter sauce was straight up amazing. They have an excellent selection of Belgian beers, including my favorite Belgian triples, and a lot of other choices. I will definitely come back here.
Excellent food at a great price! We had the salmon and grilled prawns. They were both delicious - flavorful and perfectly done. And you can beat the view from the outside patio. Right on the water with great views on Table Mountain. We will be back!Food: 5/5
Den Anker has a large variety on the menu to cater for everybody. I had the dishes as can be seen on the till slip. I give a general mark of 6.5 out of 10 for the food, 9 out of ten for service from Martin and 10 out of 10 for ambience
As always a wonderful meal that made me feel like I was in Europe! Excellent service. Excellent food. Nice selection of Belgian beer.
We were in Cape Town and visited our favorite place at the V&A Waterfront - Den Anker. We arrived at around 6:30 the day we arrived and had forgotten about the sun only going down at about 8pm in Cape Town. We were seated outside and were cooked to a crisp as we were seated in full sun. That aside, our food was outstanding and the views even better. We had seagulls for company which was amazing and we watched the sun go down. We had the fish and chips and mussels. All amazing! Can’t wait to be back in March to visit Den Anker again.
Had a business dinner here. Very full but we were seated at table outside. My muscles were fantastic. My colleague’s stew was excellent. Chips were ok but could be improved. Desserts weren’t properly warmed, which was disappointing hence the lost star. Excellent service from waiter shaun?. Reasonably priced for the Waterfront. RECOMMENDED
