Sad to see so many unanswered reviews of this place going down. Food isn't bad. Had a very friendly waiter. The menu's are DISGUSTING. They smell like old milk or a bar toilet. The tables are dirty and wobbly. The condiments trays are also very sticky. Don't want to know what the kitchen looks like. Parking area is overgrown and has some very dodgy corners when it gets dark.
A place which I wouldn't visit again. The former historical farmhouse and home of Paul Kruger's wife Gezina. We requested to be seated inside as we had an older person with us. What a mistake. Extremely loud waiters and kitchen staff talking at the top of their voices. Cutlery old and rusted. Furniture dirty. When I asked the waiters to tone it down a bit so that we could hear each other they acted offended. Money wasted.
We had the Christmas Lunch Buffet on 2022-12-25. The food and Eton, our waiter, was excellent. The parking area was fairly safe. The serving plate however, needs some attention, as it was not 100 percent clean. The garden can also use some attention.
Sunday lunch under the tree. Die Wit Huis reminds me of the Sunday lunches we had at Pretoria West Golf Club with my parents and my two grannies; good value for money food in a relaxing atmosphere. It's a traditional bar inside with a sit down patio and area outside. We grabbed lunch after shopping at Lategan & Van Biljoens, just around the corner. Jungle gym for the kids to play. Full service bar with Devils Peak and Black Label draught on tap. "Boerekos" menu, some unique items on the menu like kaaings which you don't get very often. We had pap and vleis and schnitzel with spinach and feta. The kids had chicken strips and ribs. The meat was prepared perfectly and the marinade was amazing. Well priced genarous portions not at all bad for under R500 including drinks and milkshakes. Can imagine that, if we lived in the area, we would be regular visitors.
The waiter was so patient with us cause we took so long before we order. Then it started drizzle rain and here he comes with an umbrella!! Never dissatisfied with this type of service!! Food is great!!Food: 5/5
