Dr Daya

The doctors are fine but everything else is horrid. The chairs in the waiting area are filthy! The toilets are old and their cleanliness is unconvincing. The receptionist advised me to go wait outside at my own peril because other clients would go ahead of me when I politely asked to wait outside because I felt like I was going to throw up. My dignity felt completely diminished by her cold, abject dismissal of me while I was feeling particularly weak and unwell. I arrived at 08H07 but at 10H15 I had still not seen a doctor. I had a flight scheduled for later in the day and my whole day was completely ruined by the unreasonably long wait and the anxiety it caused. They don't accept same day bookings so I had no choice but to endure the wait. When I have booked appointments in the past I have waited well beyond an hour and ended up late for work commitments. I have no complaints about the doctors but my experience of the practice was most unpleasant.

Dr Daya is brilliant. I drive from the other side of JHB to see him despite the practice not being in the best part of town. I always feel like I've been given a proper, well considered diagnosis. I would recommend Dr Daya to anyone. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because his receptionists lack the professionalism that he has and the facility itself could benefit from an upgrade.

Dr Daya and Dr Thomas have been our family doctors since the beginning of the 2000s. They helped us through the most foreign to us medical conditions and continue to offer so much support and care. may God bless them abundantly.

After complaining of Covid symptoms and then waiting 2 hours in a crowded waiting room and seeing 6 people who arrived after me, go before me and realizing the cost is R 500, and I can get seen quicker and for less elsewhere, I decided to leave. No real social distancing in the waiting room. Staff do not keep you updated. You only wait two hours at Hillbrow clinic. My dignity is worth more than this

I have to say those ladies at the reception are really contributing to bad service. Maybe they need training to be reminded of their duties. There are not even able to notice some specific signs and the extent of a patient's illness.. They don't even walk around to check if patients are comfortable at the waiting.. The painful part is that you have to pay for such service.. I mean I waited for over 3 hours to see the doctor.. I rather go to the public next time because l mean there is no much of a difference..

From reception there was no care at all. My file because by coincidence I have been assisted by Dr Thomas I sat and only hear when someone asked was it mentioned that doctor is only arriving at 11. The doctor requested tests from the nurse. I was told to go wait in the back area and continued to drink tea I asked again I was told to wait. Eventually I walked back inside and found everyone about their business. They told me they are busy inside. Then why was I made to wait? Worst service not the first time and I thought I was wrong

Terrible Place. Absolutely No Compassion. I walked in this morning with excruciating pain in my upper abdomen, I was heating up rapidly and sweating, I had experienced diarrhea before the pain started. This Doctor's room is just across my street it was the closest. I was In so much pain I was moaning, the receptionist looked at me like I was crazy. Maybe they thought I was acting so I can skip the queue but I wasn't why would I embarrass myself in front of all those people. They told me to sit and wait, I couldn't. I went up to the Dr and told her I'm in so much pain I would pay you double if I have to. She said to me; it's not about your money. This is not an emergency room, you can go to the hospital, she said I will help you but you have to wait". I couldn't wait I realised no one cares hence the treatment I got. So I rushed back home in the rain My mother rushed with me all the way from Orange Grove to a Doctorin Sunninghill and I got help, it was not an emergency room but I got helped! I learned later on that food poisoning is deadly I could have died there waiting no one cared. I'm just glad that I'm alive it wasn't my time. So I just wanted to share my experience so that people know in case you ever have an emergency this is the last place you wanna go. Some Doctors are qualified but with zero compassion. Never setting foot here again!!!!

Dr. Daya's father was my grandmother's doctor. Dr. Daya became my mother' doctor and my doctor since I was born. Both my children now 18 years were administered by Doctor Daya and Dr. Thomas. Keep up your good work and may your efforts be blessed.

My whole family goes to this practice since 2004, My Father , My Mother, Me , My uncle, My sister and now both my wife and Kids goes to dis practice , with your service in my family lives you have been a blessing for 18 years and still counting and generation to come you still going to guide us and wat stand out for me is your dedication and passion for your patiences #salute.
