After almost a year I am finally able to eat normally again! Due to the number of procedures that had to be done on my teeth, I have visited the offices of Dr.Kaplan close to 20 times this past year. I found the doctor and his team to be very professional each time. I loved the warm, welcoming and homely atmosphere at the offices. The ladies in reception were always friendly which really helped to put me at ease. Samantha always reminded me of my appointments, Lebo always ensured that I was comfortable in the dentist's chair and Dr.Kaplan was always on time - I never had to wait long for him to see me a couple of minutes at the most. He was professional in conduct, and showed diligence, pride and passion in his work.
Dr. Kaplan is a veteran in his field. He is very patient, honest, transparent and most of all dedicated to giving smiles to many people like me who have had challenges. I had a complicated case requiring crowns and teeth to be built for a big gap - 4 teeth. He studied my case, analyzed, took his time, explained all ifs and buts, gave me a reasonable quote which was considerably less than what I had been getting. With his precision and dedication, I'm now smiling in confidence. Thanks Dr. Kaplan and your Team. Will definitely recommend.
Professional, Comfortable and Service Excellence ! Dr Gerald Kaplan and his team did an amazing job on my Teeth, Dr Gerald made the entire process the most comforting experience for my full Crown and Veneers procedure, I can now smile with confidence and have the perfect smile, furthermore I am no longer afraid of sitting in a dentist chair due to the journey with Dr Gerald. I had a great experience with Dr Kaplan. He did a thorough analysis including costs and allowed me to make my own choices with regards to the type of treatment I required. He is not just about making money and will present a course of action which is best for you. I initially went there to look at a dental implant for a missing tooth. Turned out that I didn’t need it considering the procedures and costs I would incur if I were to go that route. Dr Kaplan is very professional and so are is staff. Would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a good experience.
I, Robert Enzenhofer, age 48 years , in South Africa since 1989 emigrated from Austria experienced that my 6 top front teeth got shorter dramatically. I visited different Dentists on a regular basis with my worry what to do to save my own teeth and no advice given. I had a Creek Dentist, Norwegean Dentist and Chinise Dentist over the past 26 years in South Africa. I then asked my Dentist to get transferred to a Prosthodontist on my last visit 18 month back This results would have been a very expensive solution with wrong outcome at the end I realised now I then looked at the yellow pages on internet around Johannesburg for other solutions and diagnoses where I luckily found Dr Gerald Kaplan in 127 Ivy Rd, Norwood with an immediately appointment 2 hours after my call. I then took with me the impressions of my gums and teeth from the first Prosthodontist, I had have done before, which Dr Kaplan checked. Dr Kaplan immediately realised and found the solution to my problem what was the cause of my 6 short upper front teeth. He then contacted same time Dr Esra, an specialised Orthodontist. Same day Dr Kaplan and Me went to Dr Esra and found the proper solution what makes me today a happy smilling Person again. All started end of March 2015 and with all the help from Dr Gerald Kaplan and Dr Esra I got soon bracings fitted to my teeth and a provision on my upper front teeth done. About 18 month later with regular appointments and ajustments done I got all sorted out with lower costs and much better results done by both Specialists, Dr Kaplan and Dr Esra I can recommend to everyone with dental problems in any age group. My wife had a broken tooth. Dr Kaplan expertly fixed the tooth and capped it. You cannot even tell which tooth had work done. So fresh and so clean! - 3 years ago. Update - Dr Kaplan did more work on my wife's teeth as she had become self-conscience having lost teeth due to bad dentistry. Dr Kaplan was great at developing a plan of action which left Husna my wife optimistic. Now she has a full set of teeth and is no longer self-conscience about laughing and speaking. Most importantly her beautiful smile that I once fell in love with is back! Very happy!
It was roughly 4 years ago, when I found Dr Kaplan’ practice. My mission was to fix my smile, ruined during my early teens. Therefore the day I found Dr Kaplan, he took over my mission of needing to implant a front tooth, with ease, compassion & the highest level of professionalism I have not seen in my life. He immediately did his own assessments; assembled a team of doctors such as a periodontist and an orthodontist to work on restoring my smile. I felt so blessed over the years to see how Dr Kaplan’s coordination & solutions resulted, in not just a healthier mouth, but cured gums; corrected overbites and an implant. I am eternally grateful that through his persistent care & insights, I have manage to regain my confidence and smile. May God bless him!
Extremely Dismissive and condescending. Doesn’t show empathy to clients. I won’t be returning and I just realised that I share the same horrible experience as the bad reviews here. This was definitely a waste of time and money. I had a better experience with my previous dentist.
I was looking around the web for a dental specialist. My local dentist had recommended that I remove two of my wisdom teeth and I wanted a second opinion. I called Dr Kaplan's office and by a chance, he answered the phone. I could sense he was a warm and knowledgeable man. When I arrived at his office I was met by his friendly team. During the consultation Dr Kaplan informed me that I had to remove not only all my wisdom teeth but an extra molar as well. He even offered a free X-Ray, which saved me a lot of pain and money down the road. My dental appointment was excellent. I knew I was in the hands of very capable and caring professionals. I felt like I had all the necessary tools to make a well informed decision. I appreciate his generosity and thoughtfulness. Dr Kaplan restored my faith in humanity.
This is a clean and efficiently run dental practice. However, I was disappointed at Dr Kaplan’s attitude towards me on my final visit. I had sensitivity after my new tooth was installed, and when I returned to him less than a week later to fix it, I found him to be unreasonably abrasive and dismissive. He kept saying “it will settle” despite my cries that I can’t eat due to the discomfort. He didn’t give me the sense that I could return to him if I feel any more discomfort. Instead, he treated me with haste and impatience. Over R15000 later, I will now be consulting another doctor to fix a problem that he created. Very disappointing outcome.
