Dr Govender's Surgery

The most rude and awful receptionist ever. It makes this practice seem unapproachable and unprofessional. Will definitely not support this doctor nor will I recommend him. I asked for the next available appointment and was met with " have you been here before" when I said no she abruptly said I don't have anything. Not even going as far as to say I can make a plan tomorrow. Does this mean that only regulars get service???Terrible upfront service.

I’ve been a patient of the practice for nearly 10 years and the doctor is always friendly, compassionate and very helpful. I have also read some of the other reviews complaining about the receptionist and all I have to say is that you get what you give as I personally have always found her to be friendly and helpful.

Before I went to see Dr Govender, I read the reviews and was quite worried as I saw many bad comments about his receptionist. I went feeling worried.. But as I arrived I was greeted with a lovely smile and she was so kind and caring, there were 2 people at the front desk, a male and female and both were helpful, caring and friendly. I was pleasantly surprised at their kind nature because I read the reviews and expected the same treatment. But they were great - I had to come and leave my review because we so often see the negative that we forget to give credit, when credit is due! I am pleased with my visit and will be going there from now on.

Firstly, the doctor is amazing that's if you can get in to see him. The problem is the extremely rude, arrogant and unprofessional receptionist who's like a guard dog. She has no manner of speaking to people and frankly has no business being a receptionist. While in the waiting room I heard her shout on the phone at someone. She is also hard of hearing and you need to repeat your name and surname multiple times. She acts as if she owns the place and gets to decide who sees the doctor. Dr Naven has been our family GP for a number of years and we drive quite a distance to come to him. But I don't think I could put up with the ill mannered and I'll tempered receptionist. She'd be better suited to interrogating foreign spies or a second rate villain in a B grade movie.

I am utterly disgusted by the the receptionists behavior. My husband suddenly became ill and I arrived at the surgery only to find that its on appointment basis only. I asked the receptionist if she could please fit my husband in as Dr Naven is our family Gp. She said NO I make the decisions around here. A person this rude with absolutely no manners should not be at the forefont of any health care settings. Being a nurse myself I am horrified that this is the kind of service sick people have to receive. Dr Naven is a Gem but his receptionist does not embody the same passion he shares for his patients.

Just called the Surgery and the receptionist is so rude and you are not allowed to speak to the doctor , I need my chronic script renewed and not comfortable going into the surgery , I was told that the doctor will not be able to email me a new script I will have to go into the practice. When I asked to speak or email the doctor directly she rudely said that's not possible . Time are changing and the practice should be willing to do virtual consultation. The doctor must be losing so many patients because of the receptionist Disappointed and Frustrated

Wow I'm lost for words, I actually thought patients exaggerated with their reviews. I actually wonder if the doctor looks at these reviews to see what patients are experiencing when they come to him unwell. I am disgusted in the manner that the receptionist treats patients the arrogant tone that she displays is totally unacceptable. I hope the doctor addresses the matter.

Disgusting attitude from the receptionist. Poor telephone skills and just hangs up on you if she deems your problem not suitable for Dr Govender.

Very friendly staff, helpful, accommodate most medical aids and help in getting information for procedures etc... the doctor takes his time with patients, listens to everything and is very thorough in his examinations. They don't take appointments it is a walk in clinic so expect a slight wait specially after 2pm with an almost negligible wait before noon.
