If you are looking for Indian heritage food place then this is right spot for you. A good selection of typical Indian Halal foods. Although management needs to improve the facility more as I used to come here and it’s change a lot within time. Dessert menu is very limited.
Amazing food!!!! There are no words to describe the amazing food at this joint. You have so mamy varieties to choose from, China town, to Indian. And not expensive at all, meals varying from R50 to R80 and huge portions. We come here monthly about two times. And always bring friends. I recommend to EVERYONE I know. Keep up the hard work.
Seems like an Indian food market, but a whole lot of a variety of food... e.g lots of curry options... You can eat in, there is a space to sit not so big though when crowded, you can also have a take away. The portions are big, you can pay either with card or hard cash. The price range is from R50 to R90, there are drinks and water as well obviously they gonna be a bit more than usual. At the end there is an ice cream stall as well, they also allow tasting before buying. I enjoyed the food to be honest... You should check it out, now that you read this.
Eastern Bazaar is one of my favourite gems in Cape Town City centre. At this bustling halaal canteen-style restaurant, you can enjoy a genuine Cape Town experience. Behind multiple counters, the entire spice spectrum from Bombay to the Bo-Kaap is covered and deliciously so, with meals ranging from Turkish kebabs to Cape-style biryanis, creamy North Indian curries, and authentic tandoor specialties. It's important to try the many savory appetizers, such stuffed puri. Vegetarians have many options. The perfect place to eat when you’re on a budget. I’d recommend their butter chicken curry and Bombay crush Falooda. Kids love their pizza I enjoy a chicken cheese dosa as well. You won’t be disappointed
I love curry and if tou like it as much as I do and you are willing to be open to a completely different experience, pay them a visit they are extremely busy over lunchtime so go early. You order your food at a central location and after you pay you go to that specific vendor and wait your turn
Honestly the worst food we've had during our entire time in Cape Town. All I can say is bland, bland and bland. A definite no go if you used to a Durban curry/flavour. The guy was kind enough to let us taste the curries before ordering and they were truly awful lamb roghan gosh, chicken Tikka and butter chicken. We ended up going with the lamb mince pizza, chicken cheese masala dosa, chicken fried rice and chicken biriyani served with dhall. None were terrible but they were so bland we only had a few mouthfuls before packing up takeaways. Hoping we can repurpose the leftovers to add more flavour.
This place is good and it have various types of food Indian food specifically.. the food I got was not as per my expectations hence the 4 stars in overall.. but it's a really nice place with nice food too. I would recommend to check it out.. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes it is wheelchair accessible..
Love the variety here. The place could do with more air-conditioning. The pizza needs more salt but I enjoy the food here and the atmosphere.Food: 4/5
If you end up visiting this place on a fairly busy day then you will notice and appreciate the beautiful indian wooden art on the wall which tends to get lost between the crowd on a busy day. With Bollywood music banging and chefs preparing the meals in front of their customers, this sure is a place to visit. There is a variety of eastern food to taste, from shawarma to butter chicken, Chinese to Madrasi, a lot to choose from. Ice creams, bombay crush, lassi and some indian desserts. The naan bread is nice, however, I was not a fan of the quality of the food and the meat. All I can say is, it was affordable. Vegetarian options: They do offer some vegetarian meals and desserts Kid-friendliness: Maybe a little too crowded for the kids but it is a family friendly venue Parking: The streets are narrow, may need to park somewhere else and walk to the venue Wheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair accesibility Dietary restrictions: Hallal, veg and non veg meals available
The butter chicken & shwarmas are always a hit! I love the Dahl that comes with the curries. Honestly one of my fave places to get food from. Big portions at affordable prices.
