Fantastic service from Riaan and Bruce. Serviced and fitted our 20 year old roof top tent on our Hilux, very neatly. We purchased an awning - excellent product. Friendly and professional service. We recommend Eezi-awn for their products and service.
I bought a Batwing 270 awning from Eezi-Awn for my New Defender and it is an awesome product. I’ve had it for a few months and the only small issue I’ve had is that I needed to lower my air suspension every time I go into my garage to avoid catching the door because of the little bit of extra height. I went to Eezi-Awn and chatted to Jess and Riaan about a solution. They called Bruce in from the workshop and he said no worries, he will make new custom brackets to lower the mounting of the awning by 40mm. He removed the awning and welded up some new brackets, powder coated them and re-fitted everything at no charge. What awesome service. I am really impressed and will continue to support them. My husband and I purchased an Eezi-Awn Blade roof tent in 2020 for an overland adventure that sadly came to an abrupt halt due to COVID lockdown after only about 10 wonderful, comfortable nights in our tent. We were sad to cut the trip short, but very happy with the tent we knew we’d use again and again! Unfortunately, while setting off to travel again at the end of 2021, my husband was in a terrible roll-over accident on the N1 after an oncoming vehicle smashed into him on a blind corner. We are so grateful the roof top tent was in place, and firmly believe it saved his life by buffering the roof of the car and limiting the amount it caved in on him. After the accident, we went to the scrap yard to inspect the tent and were so impressed by how it held up. The shell was only slightly buckled, but the tent still opened and closed perfectly. The inners were in perfect nick. It is clearly a very well made piece of equipment to withstand a roll over with a heavily loaded overland vehicle. We contacted Eezi-Awn who were so wonderful to us. They asked us to drop the roof tent off at their premises so they could inspect it, and were generous in helping us fix it up in hardly any time at all. We have just installed the repaired tent on our new vehicle and can’t wait to use it as we finally set off on the overland adventure we’ve been waiting for! Thank you Eezi-Awn for the incredible product, extra-safety, kind service, and generosity you’ve extended to us!
We bought two Eezi-Awn Jazz rooftop tents and several other things. In a big thunderstorm both tents got soaked because water blew through the mesh windows. Other people Bushlore renters and private owners using these tents experienced the same problem. Water will get through the mesh windows, in the side pockets of the tent and will leak further into the tent. When we reported this problem at Eezi-Awn they were not willing to help us with a solution. They just said that they are selling tents for 39 years. Their website: "What sets this tent apart is the very large PVC flysheet that will keep the tent protected against the rain." Well..., this sheet doesn't cover the mesh side-windows enough to keep the rain outside. Don't buy at Eezi-Awn because their service is dreadful. In reply on Eezi-Awn: We did consult Jess from Eezi-Awn before we bought everything. He confirmed our setup was possible. Afterwards he told us we were "pushing the limits". There is a fitment issue which is probably not solvable in our situation. This issue does only partially relates to the leakage problem. With two tents and a bat awning on one car we are pushing the limits as we learned afterwards. The PVC cover just doesn't cover the mesh windows. This won't change with a different fitment. That's how it's produced. It's more like a design flaw. The big rental company Bushlore uses these tents exactly the same way we fitted them. Yes, we spoke Bushlore clients with this setup, compared the fitment and they had the same problem. One of them almost lost his iPhone because it became wet. Others with a different setup also had the same issues. There was absolutely no assistance offered. We explained the problem. Came with an easy solution and you just won't help us with it. We did appreciate the offer for the refund, but then we have to find new tents quickly. That's absolutely no solution for us and definitely no assistance. We did not ask for a free solution. Actually we made an appointment to visit you, resolve the problem and agreed with the possibility of additional costs. We don't live in South Africa so we don't have easy access to the materials or a sewing machine to solve this issue. We did not ask for a free solution altough it should be free. We bought 2 tents, spoke with 3 other Jazz users and all except one confirmed the same problem. This was an opportunity to improve your tents. Instead you deny the problem and showing off that you are in business for 30 years.
One of the pioneers of rooftop tents in South Africa, Eezi Awn has been on the forefront of rooftop tent sales. For export quality tents and other kit like roof racks, pay them a visit or give them a call. Great people and great products.
