We book the package that included elephant and monkey sanctuary and then a 2 hour guided safari drive at Lion Park. We went in the morning to feed, bush and walk with the elephants. It was truly amazing and spectacular to be that up close to elephants. I went with my daughter 2yrs and wife. The staff were brilliant and really made us feel safe and were helpful when taking pictures. After the elephants, we had a guided tour of the recused monkeys. Make sure you have nothing that the cheeky monkeys can grab. They had a look in all the pockets in our bag. The guide was very knowledge and really cared for the animals. We then went to the Lion Park. It was good to be able to go an a safari with my daughter and be able see all the animals and feel safe. Dusty the guide was great.
Such a fun outing!! The rangers are very knowledgeable and have great interpersonal skills. I learnt so much about these gentle giants! You also have multiple opportunities to feed the elephants and take really close up photos. There’s a monkey sanctuary right next to the elephant sanctuary. Great out of for the whole family or as a date.
Took my family here, it turned out to be one of the most spectacular outings we've had in a long time. The venue is very clean and well maintained, the animals are in great shape, the people working here are extremely knowledgeable and have the animals at heart, worthwhile the trip.
Really cool experience interacting with the elephants, you get to feed them and touch them and they're so intelligent they'll show you their teeth and their foot. The guides are also really nice and take pictures and videos for you with your phone.
Great experience, but a bit pricey. You get to feed the elephants for 5min, and touch them for 2min. Walk with them for about 10. I'd honestly prefer less time chatting and more time watching and touching the elephants. Or tell us the facts while we watch them.
Went there and it was my besties birthday We captured a lot of memories , more important is that we enjoyed ourselves and got a chance to learn about elephants and how they actually live and survive. Lastly please wear flat shoes only if we knew we did not bother to check but here we were wearing platforms boots . Any ways the distance is not that bad . Good interactions of the guiders with the visitors
My absolute favourite animal in the world and I cannot recommend this sanctuary enough! We were here 6 years prior and I was a little concerned that the keepers had bull hooks with them, but was so happy to see the elephant cared for and no more bull hooks! We took out almost two year old and even he got involved and loved feeding and brushing the elephants. I believe that the elephant in the picture remember me from our previous trip as she kept rubbing her trunk on my arm, these is such a wonderful experience and it's worthwhile for the whole family.
Amazing! Pay the little bit extra to feed them. The monkey food lasts the whole route and it makes for amazing and up close interaction. Awesome staff, E-V-E-R-Y one of them. Was worth every Rand. Now I'm confident that the Elephant experience will be amazing as well already booked.
Very educational. Guides are well-informed, and safety is a high priority for tourists and animals. Animals are well taken care of. It's not just a walk; take pictures and move along. The entire walk is guided by a well-educated guide who constantly explains everything about the elephants. I certainly learned a lot during our visit.
What an amazing experience!! To be so close to these incredible creatures was a memory for life. James the Guide as well as the all the guides/handlers are professional, friendly and helpful. Please support the sanctuary, they are doing a wonderful job.
