Visited this place on a weekend and also booked a chalet for a night stay. It's very good and peaceful, quiet, spacious and great views. The service was also very nice. Had great time in the aquadome, bowling, gaming center, and the casino. But the food options should have been more. Dint find many options. But will do great for a stay away from your busy life.
I had such an amazing time at the Animal Kingdom. We went for a game drive there and it was such an asking experience. The game driver/guid was so informative and educational. He was so entertaining and offered to take pics for everyone at each stop. The drive is so punctual, started right on time so don’t get there late. We saw so many animals and only paid around R130 per person. It’s value for money and the best game drive, I highly recommend
It is a nice holiday or short getaway or day trip. Some nice activities, and very clean. However, it does need some improving as there's not much to do and the pools offer very little.Rooms: 3/5
There's everything at this place,from restaurants, adventure and tranquility. We went for game drive and the lady at reception was phenomenal, the driver even more phenomenal and knowledgeable,we got to feed some friendly animals. At check-in into the chalets,staff were very friendly and welcoming, even called to check if everything was fine. Chalets were spacious and clean. There was everything one needs for self catering,and were clean. There's backup in case of loadshedding. The place was green,grass cut and very relaxing. The place is not far from shops in case one needs to get something,i think I saw 2 spars and 2 pick n pay within 5km and of course this is just an indication that there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Prices at emerald are very competitive,very much worth it. Rooms: The rooms were spacious and neat. Nearby activities: There are few activities to do with kids. From zoo,game drives,aquadome,swimming pools located and are open. Safety: The place appeared very safe and secure, security at every entrance. Plus each side,whether the chalets,resorts or hotel have own entrances with security at the gate. Food & drinks: Food is allowed at this place. Plus there are restaurants at the place for people of different tastes,variety of choice
What a disappointment the hotel was. I called and booked a family room, and when I got there my reservation was not done, a very friendly lady at reservations had to find us a room as it was Easter weekend and the rooms were full. We had to be in a standard room, myself, husband and 2 kids. When we were preparing to sleep, the was air coming through the door, there was blood stains on the curtains, the curtain could not be closed properly because of how it was hanged. Cleaning lady came, and we suggested that we put pegs so that the curtains can close, until we discovered the blood stains on the curtain. We had to be moved from Room 215 to room 305 where almost everything was not working. The breakfast was such a disaster, the fruits were extremely soaky, the scrambled egg looked horrible. Eventually we were moved the following day but it was such an inconvenience especially with 2 young children. The staff is super friendly and very warm but I would NEVER set my foot or recommend that place. Because it was Easter weekend, the kids missed Easter egg hunt, because it was not communicated, We also realized Sunday late that we had to book for Sunday lunch. Such things should be communicated with the guests on arrival. I am very disappointed with Emerald hotel.
A beautiful camping area indeed. Not too many campsites, so it can't really get overcrowded. And it's not too far out of Jozi and fairly priced. So perfect for a weekend getaway. But, the service was terrible. We were there for 3 days. We went one day without water at all. Another without got water in the bathrooms, plus another day without hot water in the male and disabled persons bathrooms. The shower system in the disable person's bathroom is impractical. I don't know how you can have a pressing tap that stops then you let it go for a person that's disabled... For both the hot and cold. How do you even adjust the water temperature. And then the cleanliness of the bathrooms wasn't good at all. I think they were only cleaned once a day... This should never be, in a public facility. We were a crowd of sixteen people and had booked 2 campsites and a chalet and we enjoyed our holiday. Just the poor service experience spoiled it for the first time campers in our group, who've now been put off camping. I hope something is done to correct this.
We had a birthday party at the ten pin bowling. The staff was very helpful and even though there was a lot of people, everyone enjoyed itRooms: 4/5
The children entertainment is great, but you can't call this casino a casino. I've seen slot machine in a pub. No tables were open.
Beautiful resort. Enjoyed the hotel facilities and food. Absolutely loved the experience and food at the Gas Monkey resort. The Aquadome was under maintenance at the time of our visit. Looking forward to another trip hereRooms: 5/5
Amazing place for a family or couple's outting. The resort has everything you need to have a blast during your stay. The hotel, casino and resort are exactly as how the pictures reflect. The food, people and vibe was absolutely great.
