I recently had the pleasure of hiring ExSolar to install a backup system for my home, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed with the outstanding work they delivered. Had a great experience with ExSolar, yesterday they installed the first phase of our solar/back-up system. My experience has been very good so far. I found the back-office team to be very responsive and they also helped expedite our installation. As for the installation team, great bunch of guys, who did a  fantastic job with the installation, commission and taking the time to answer all our questions.

Thanks to ExSolar I am able to write this review during loadshedding in a household where everything runs as normal! It was only an hour in that we realised our suburb is currently in loadshedding. We didn't notice at all thanks to the battery back-up system they installed. We are now so excited for the solar part of it!  If you are reading this and are tired of loadshedding, give these folks a call - they will help you sort out your homes power issues and make loadshedding a thing of the past. They have been so friendly, helpful and attentive to our home's electrical needs.  Thanks guys for a job well done!!  UPDATE - Our panels are up and running, we haven't experienced load-shedding in months, and our Eskom expenses are now practically forgotten. This has been a huge win for our family in many ways!

I had a very similar experience to Mathew Berry. I would not recommend using Exsolar. Very poor customer service and communication. Read through some more reviews and you will note many more unhappy customers. It seems there are plenty of other solar retailers in the area with better reviews. I would recommend you try those if you are looking for solar energy supplies.  Update: Exsolar has threatened to take me to court for a fraudulent warranty claim because I requested a second opinion to diagnose the issue with my inverter.

I was anxious to have met the staff regarding a solution I required but travelling from Cape Town I was late and sadly missed them. I shall try again next week but the business looks established from the exterior.

UPDATE: 5 January 2023  After 24 days, 38 emails, 1 complaint submission to the consumer ombudsman, my refund has finally been processed. This business fought tooth and nail to keep my money after selling me a product they themselves confirmed faulty, trying to bully me into a replacement, only to inevitably cave and process the refund.  I will never shop here again, and actively encourage anybody considering doing so to look elsewhere for a more competent, customer-centric business.  UPDATE: 22 December 2022  This company sold me a faulty product, and absolutely refused to refund. They've tried their utmost to shirk their responsibility and have exhibited by far the most despicable customer service tactics I have ever witnessed.  I went into the store to try and resolve this and the managing director not only told me to leave, he then followed me outside the building and tried to intimidate me by taking photographs of my vehicle and the registration.  Absolutely nonsensical. They try to bully their customers out of refunds and demonstrate deplorable behaviour, threatening and intimidating. Avoid this business at all costs - you'll regret any cent you spend here.  --------------- ORIGINAL  Absolute nightmare to deal with.  Another example of abysmal service in South Africa. Even if a product you buy here is faulty, they try every scummy trick in the book to try and avoid refunding you, insisting you take a replacement even though that violates the CPA.  My inverter was faulty within the first month of purchase, as confirmed by their staff. They insisted on processing a warranty claim with Victron, even though as per the CPA I requested a refund, which I was fully due. Their excuse? I don't have the cardboard box or paper manual it came with. I've offered to return all the other accessories.  I purchased a Victron MultiPlus inverter from this so-called "business" in November. The inverter was handed over without any configuration. I returned it to them twice, the first time being misconfigured by their staff and the second time they identified a fault and needed to process a warranty claim with Victron.  If you’re considering making a purchase - save yourself the hassle, headache and regret and rather deal with a competent company who is willing to lift a finger to provide decent customer service.  Absolutely lacklustre - avoid at all costs.  0/5 stars

My personal experience was amazing the staff are friendly, helpful and very informative about all their products. I would recommend anyone who is interested in buying to go to to them for any personal preference. I will be visiting them again soon

Charger Inverter works great, service needs some help. Not very helpful

No Response after more than 4 Emails - Phone not working They do not follow-up  Can someone please let me know of a alternative company that would like to do business

I contacted them to ask for help with a Victron system installation and to see if they will be willing to come out and see what the issue with system is. They not interested to assist rather just emailing excuses and reasons they cannot assist. I’ll be contacting another Victron supplier and installer. Good luck using exsolar.
