Hi I would just like to thank Manesh and his team on how professional and smoothly the cremation service went today for my father who passed away, and I would highly recommend them for any family who would need there services in the future. From the paper work docs that needed signing and authorization to the actual service including the priest they recommended they were champions.in all ways once again many thanks from our family.
I sincerely wish that this review can help people that is mourning and not fully aware of circumstances. My uncle had passed away 5 May 2022. It was a Dbn/ Jhb funeral and arrangements was made over the phone from Dbn. I was told to take my Aunt to their offices complete the burial procedure. 1. We waited at the morgue for 2 and half hours only to get a call to tell us they went to the wrong hospital. 2. At the offices we where shown the coffin and was advised that the coffin get cremated as well. We understood. 3. Breakdown of the costs included a Hindu priest to perform last rights of the deceased with prayer goods total R14k which I had asked them about. 4. On day of funeral the priest showed up with six rice balls and 6 bettle leaves, and some sendoor powder. 5. Thorough out the funeral he sat with the mourners and did not conduct any ritual, 10 min to picking up the body he dismantled the coffin and shocked mourners saw a broken untidy coffin that was not dignified at all. He then placed the rice calls and bettle leaves in the coffin recited something and was done. 6. The elders at the funeral was shocked as this was the last rights of a married Hindu man was not performed. At confrontation the priest quickly said the remaining rituals will take place at the cemetery, my aunt who is traumatized by this gave him another chance to atleast carry it out in their culture. 7. At the cemetery all he did was read a script from a book asked everyone to last view, when he was asked about my Aunts dot and bangles he just said put it in the coffin with the body. 8. Clearly he knew nothing about Hindu rituals which left the elders angry and frustrated as another funeral was due to take place. 9. Again on confrontation he said he was gurati from India, and all rituals take place the After the funeral in India here in SA they have too many things to do and he did what he was told to do. 10. He also took a bucket of clover ghee that was not used during before or after the funeral. It did not belong to him it was not part of the prayer goods that he brought. 11. When he was called a black women answered his phone, he then later called and said he did not know where the ghee was yet everyone saw him get into to the hearse carrying the ghee. The purpose of this review is not to offend anyone but to create an awareness that humans have lost respect and funeral parlors like this takes advantage of vulnerable people that will not come back since it been paid for the and the person is gone. I am extremely disappointed on how Far East Funeral has carried themselves about, having a fancy office and sweet talking people into believing they actually care. Please if you have lost a love one and important rituals needs to be performed rather deal with someone that has conscious because that person will understand the values behind these rituals and how important it is for the soul to rest. I truly hope the dead that was cheated by these people get revenge by haunting them. I am really sick to think was r14k not enough to get a proper Brahman, even if you asked for more money do you not understand cultures.
Although my mother’s funeral went well but what I did not like was her being put in The wrong coffin , also the wrong name was printed on the wrong coffin as well .
Great & Reliable Service and Advice !
