A very spacious and friendly coffee shop. The food and coffee is very good and a photo gallery is present for viewing well you wait. The time I went the photographer was also there so you can potentially meet the creators of the gallery on show. The staff were accomodating and made me feel very welcome on my first visit. Worth a visit.
So I happened to be free to wander Rosebank this morning... What a lovely surprise to bump into a Obie Oberholzer photography exhibit and a salted caramel latte at PhotoZA gallery in the Rosebank Mall, next to the movies and the MTN shop! If I had a fat wallet and a huge place, a number of those gorgeous prints would get a new home! Gorgeous, slyly funny, bluesy.... only SA great Oberholzer gets both the energy and the melancholy into one image that way. The delicious burger stoked even more endorphin. The Star Trek experience in the ladies room was another surprise... haven't been since a certain pandemic, ha ha. Wheelchair accessibility: Park on the bottom level of the parking garage, and PhotoZA is literally 30m inside the mall entrance.
I absolutely love every part of this place, the food, drink and treats are all undoubtedly delicious, professionally presented, good quantity and genuinely affordable. The service is fantastic, staff are always in a good mood, happy to help and food is served promptly. The setting is great. Clean, comfortable tables and chairs, beautiful, high-quality photography hanging in the gallery and all around. Good bathroom is nearby, across the isle, in the mall. Internet connection is excellent, probably one of the highest speeds you'll find at a coffee shop in this country. You are provided with an outlet for your devices on request. They have incredible deals/specials going each day, such as 2 for 1 milkshakes on Mondays, free hot drink with your meal on Tuesdays, and more for each day. Parking: On request you can get a new parking ticket to get out for free.
I attended an exhibition by a jazz photographer in the month of September 2021. The exhibition was amazing. The Photographer’s works were masterful. The images are printed in black and white which is part of Jazz photographic culture. Foto ZA is a fine photographic gallery. If we set the photography aside which was outstanding and focus on the venue, I would give it 3 stars. The other stars are for lack of lighting sophistication and the experience which is affected by this. The commercial LED lighting of a mall doesn’t do justice for the works that adorn the walls. I wish the lighting was better. The service from the coffee shop and the coffee was great though.
Great customer service, COVID-19 protocols observed. The coffee is very good and the chocolate brownies are fresh.
Good breakfast. Very good coffee. Nice IRC space in the mall. It's actually a photo gallery/shop that has an eatery inside. Feels a bit like a museum diner. Very chilled
A quiet little gem tucked away near an escalator I've never used or knew existed in over 20 years of visiting Rosebank. Great for the entrepreneur or freelancer...with free wifi, and a cafe. Spacious and not full of pretentious hipster types of Starbucks...its for those who actually "do" real work instead of those who try to "look" like they do real work. this review was written prior to their move...so I can't say for sure if it is still the same type of experience as before
Very nice coffee shop. Situated in a photo gallery, it provides coffee and food, amid a collection of photos with jazz music softly humming in the background. It's sophisticated and has very friendly staff.
We went to have a look at the current exhibition of “instagramers”. Really enjoyed the exhibition and it inspires one to go out there, pick up your camera and shoot. Staff were very welcoming. Coffee and cake available. Please SUPPORT this photo gallery! It is a great place to view work of your local photographers and overseas artists/photographers.
Nice and neat. The food is tasty. The photo gallery is simple and beautiful. I enjoyed my very first visit in there. Wheelchair accessibility: The floor is the same level as the mall floor
