The upgrades to the reception area yielded very good results. I love how the new reception face lift has has now put to the entrance of this hotel. The checkin process is very smooth and I love how friendly the staff members are. Stying at this hotel you got to eat food at Spur and this is a plus for all guests. The rooms are well maintained and though they are not fitted with the latest technology advancement, you still have a peace of mind staying in the rooms here at the hotel. Looking forward to the next stay and can’t wait to come back here at Southern Sun Garden Court Kimberley again.
Loved our fourth floor view! Decent, Clean and a gem/diamond here in Kimberly. Could rate it 5 Stars if I could! But there are certain facilities that could do with a bit more work, i.e The Gym only has 2 treadmills, 2 Bikes and Dumbells less than 10Kgs. Overall our stay here was great! Would come again and again. My Suggestion is to ask for rooms with a view to help with the natural lighting and ventilation of the room. The corner-rooms, Not so much. Breakfast is always so delicious, Especially their 'Daily Specials'. They have a beautiful hotel lounge with a fountain, A pool for the little ones to enjoy as well. Rooms: Very clean, Just certain rooms have carpet spotting. Avoid corner rooms because of the lack of natural lighting and ventilation. Not all rooms, Just the corner-room-bathrooms. Pretty updated as compared to older photos. Food & drinks: The breakfast is delicious! And the chefs are ever so kind. For dinner, There is a Spur to your convenience. But for in the case that you wish for something different, There are nearby malls.
During my stay, this hotel had an average service, you request for something, they take time to deliver or they forget. The hotel itself around the reception area is good, the breakfast was great. The dinner is served at the adjacent Spur restaurant. I didn't like the structure of the hotel, it's like a hostel, you can be seen by everyone in the passage when you enter or exit your room. This hotel has a gym inside, I liked that. This time, I got an improved service, 21-22 November 2022

As I write this review 01:53am and I am unable to sleep as I can hear every noise, every car, everyone talking passing outside the hotel. The gave me a room202 that is facing the main street and the window is not closing properly, leaving a gab for noise to come through. I have never had such a terrible night. I phoned the operator and they tell me there is nothing they can do I just have to hold on until the morning, as if I did not pay to sleep in this room for this hours. I am highly disappointed
It's an good hotel, not having a mini fridge in rooms is not okay with me. It's very neat not the greatest of views as the town's origins is mining. Very friendly staff and overall good service. Rooms are spacious with work desk and spacious beds. If you're looking for accommodation about R 1 300 per night then it's worth it.Rooms: 3/5
To be honest this is no t a luxurious hotel but , whe you have friendly people working for you, people that listen it makes for a great experience.Rooms: 3/5
This hotel's rooms are really run down. Curtains downs and dirty, carpets dirty and stink. It's really not pleasant sleeping here.
They need to invest in new aircoditioners. The one they have are old and noisy and they disturbed my sleep.Rooms: 3/5
I' ve asked the breakfast to be packed as we were leaving in the morning, yoghurt was rotten bread was very stale, so dissapointed we had to stop by Wimpy for breakfast Food & drinks: Dissapointed
