The best ever place I once experienced some enjoyment, only Bar staff a named guy by Shellaz his behavior is very rude in dealing with customers, on 29 we had some drinks at Gateway with him later he bring a J&B bottle of Whiskey to drink with some guys and later he started fight with friends until police arrived,he was injured and had some brushes over the face bcoz of violence, You better choose better behavior people so that your business won't collapse. I dnt think if he can balance stok well, stop drinking while on duty because he brings friends over the premise to share business alcohol inside the Laundry .. later on start violence with thembuntil the police visit the place, Gateway is a public place we're people must feel comfortable to enjoy their money but the Barman is rude and violent to clients. We never enjoyed the day that was on 29 and I hope the following day he was not well because he was fighting until I take him outside the premise. Food is good, place is clean and tidy.. Restaurant worth a visit
Definitely not value for money!!! No privacy at all, one can hear your neighbor clearly as the bedroom window looks out into the passage. Towels are old and needs to be replaced. The host is not accommodating at all! We attended a wedding and we were requested to vacate the room on a Sunday at 09h00, normally check out is at around 10h00. If you have not ordered breakfast by exactly 08h00 you went without! My last complaint is that once you were in you had no remote control, you had to ask the host to open and close for you, which she did not do with a good heart. We never felt at home and we definitely paid too much for what we received. I DO NOT recommend this guest house, it was a shocking experience.
Not my first choice in this town. Management do try but lack hospitality training. Your first experience will be getting locked in or out while the manager is away from the front desk. The building layout is poor so the rooms are subjected to a lot of noise from the passage. The wifi is unusable due to the severe restrictions placed on access. There is a pub and restaurant and my meal was good. Breakfast was limited and the staff all forgot about my prearranged request for wheat free food. I had to go elsewhere for a proper meal. For some strange reason the outside window in my room was installed upside down. I arrived during a downpour which meant the window had to be fully shut to prevent leaking and the room got stuffy. Also no fan on the shower so the room got steamed up while showering. The pond in front has no fish. I think the right manager or owner can turn this place around but until then you can stay at better places closer to town.
Very nice place besides the unreasonable rules that they have.Feels more like a prison as opposed to what it's meant to be. - No Visitors that can sleep over even though you have booked your full room. - You can't braai on their premises unless you buy their meat - At 10pm you are told to go to sleep. - No alcohol allowed on the premises. - You can't access your room after 10pm because the gate is locked at 10pm. Too many rules for a paying customer.
This was the most bizzare place i have ever had to put my head. The ownerswife was rude, give a side to visitors like thier not paying. Made me and my family very uncomfortable. We were treated like trash, locked out after 10pm like children. They should reserve it for personal use since they want it to be a family home not guest house. The food was limited and unsatisfying.If u miss dinner, they keep your money not carry it over yet u paid and did not eat thier trash food. I will not recommend it to anyone, it is like living in your granny's backyard.
They have good food to enjoy and the place itself is mostly quite. Not really a getaway but a place to go and eat mybe sleep one night

I'm black so i got assigned to the most smallest room because all the rooms were "fully booked" even though i saw s lot of available rooms. Premises are locked st 22:00 so you can't get out or in if you went out. TV remote are not working. Only 2 mnet channels and SABC channels They claim they have wifi but it doesn't connect. No eating in the rooms. No take aways allowed in the rooms.
