Set in a picturesque valley between the affluent suburbs of Bassonia and Glenvista in southern Johannesburg, the Glenvista Country Club is indeed blessed with its location.

Sid Brews, South Africa’s premier golfer in his day and well-known as golf-course architect, was commissioned to utilize his imagination and expertise, and work started on the course in 1967. It was only in 1973, however, that the course was opened to members.

Today, the Glenvista Country Club is undoubtedly one of the best golf courses around and boasts superb facilities in a truly unique setting

Absolutely beautiful golf course, and it's well maintained. One issue was all the complaints about the prices of cold drinks and the food. The club will definitely have to look at it. It's much cheaper to buy food and drinks from the garage down the road and take it to the course.

Played the golf course on 18 Nov 2022. The course has to be in the worst condition I have ever played it. Everyone in our group had the same view. The rough is terrible. Even 2m from the green. The greens have not received a spring treatment and are very firm and fast; surface discolouring could be the start of problems.  Bunkers are all compacted, no loose sand. The course appears to have a shortage of equipment to care for the surrounds.  Confirmed by Pro Shop staff. I recommend giving this a miss until they sort out the maintenance  issues. Very disappointed that management has allowed the deterioration of a previously highly rated facility.

To the management of Glenvista Golf course. SHAME ON YOU!! I grew up on this golf course and was one of thre most prestigious ones to play. I played yesterday for the first time in many years and was super disappointed to see how run down this once immaculate golf course is. To loose your balls just off the fairway or even close to the green is not cool. NO MAN!

The bartender makes the best Margaritas . Food took longer than usual to come out but was tasty even though fries were cold. Loved the Beer options

I just visited for the first time today at the Green restaurant  but it's a beautiful country club and I bet you could find a sugar daddy here if thats your type of lifestyle besties.

Come on Wednesday quiz nights. Awesome vibe, and great food! The pizzas are delicious! Can bring your own hubbly, nearly all the tables have plug points which makes things super convenient.

In the past four weeks, Glenvista has been the best well maintained course I have played. The service incredible. We came with our partners and they allow us to play as a two ball. Even though the course is on its own property, it felt as though it was part of a large estate because of the views.

Great atmosphere.  Course in perfect condition. Good food. Professional trustworthy Staff. Played in 2 incredible Golf days.

Great course and very trustworthy staff which is unheard of these days. Forgot my shoes @ the club and the gentleman kept it aside for me as soon as he saw I left it behind.
