Godisang Development( Midrand) is an NPO founded in 2012.The primary goal of the organisation is to curb unemployed in impoverished communities .
Godisang Development is a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) based in Midrand, North of Johannesburg. We focus on community development through a number of initiatives across Gauteng, one of them being the Job Seeking Centre programme, as a form of poverty alleviation programme.
One aspect of the challenge of unemployment in our communities is that of accessing job opportunities. Godisang Development, in partnership with the Department of Social Development and a number of other organizations, embarked on initiatives that essentially aim at bringing the access to job opportunities closer to the communities.
Most of these initiatives are coupled with a Job Preparation/Life Skills Workshop programme that aims to educate and inform applicants about prerequisites that need to be met by prospective employees, to ensure that they are employable and/or marketable. The organizations that we partnered with to implement these programmes are briefly described below.
The Welfare to work programme is another one of our projects that aims to either transit youth who are on welfare into permanent lucrative employment or provide further education opportunities. The project involves taking welfare recipients to the work environment provided by host NGOs and cooperatives.
Godisang Development has additional programmes that build communities through skills development in various industries.
To play a leading role in youth development , communities, and individuals by improving their quality of life through a number of initiatives.
