We were looking for a pet friendly restaurant and Grass Roof was recommended. They are well prepared to accommodate dogs. There is a lovely play area for kids with ample space for parents to relax. The shop area is well stocked with a variety of goodies. It's about a 10 minutes drive from the sea, but the restaurant does not have a view of the ocean.
Such a lovely place to meet for a quick bite or a beer or some tea with your mates. The kids can go and walk through the gardens and explore the beautiful play ground with large swings and the many jungle gyms to entertain. I know my girls love this place and play so nice. There is a large garden with plenty of play areas including old tractors. Moms and children enjoy play dates The only negative I can mention is that they are sometimes so busy that the food takes a long. Across the road is a new venue where there is water slides and a train every hour as well as a track and a bunch of bikes and trikes and endless safe play space. Always time well spent here!
Had a really relaxing lunch today here. Service was very friendly and place was super cosy. Food was also yummy and good portions.
Great place, but the consistency needs to be worked on. Me and a friend ordered the same cocktail, and they both tasted completely different. The food is good, just the waiting times can be a bit long, and the service definitely needs to be worked on. Sometimes, it feels as if the waiters dont care. I have been there there 3 times now, and each time, I've had a mixed experience . It's such a beautiful venue, though.
My sister in-law took me to Grass Roof for lunch. The lady at the entrance took us to our table and assigned us a waiter. Took a good 20mins of sitting without being attended to until I walked to one of the waiters that was standing by the door working on the computer who pointed at a guy who is assigned to us busy at another table. Took another 15mins for Simba to get to us and take our order. While I understand it was during Festive season, no one and I mean no one wants to deliberately sit for 35mins to get service and had that been communicated at the entrance we would have opted to go somewhere else. We killed time by walking around and sat on the swing while one of us was the lookout from our table. The food was great, safe parking and the location is beautiful but the service was really terrible.
We like to take our kid to the play area across the road. But if you want to eat there, you have to order from the restaurant form across the road and are treated like a second-class citizen. Food quite bland and gave most of it to the guy watching the gate. It really should be a more cohesive experience between the 2 places. Not sure how it works or even owned by the same people...but next time we are just going for the play area and will pack a picnic basket.
Chic restaurant meets the great outdoors! I love everything regarding how this restaurant looks. Whether it's space with massive windows which bring in natural light, an intimate setting with a little more coziness, or you'd like to be one with nature and sit amongst the trees, this restaurant caters to every taste. The menu is quite thoughtful as well, with a variety of edibles available for a diverse range of palates. The food however, seem to have mixed reviews. My North African Pizza was made to absolute perfection whilst my partner was underwhelmed with his Cuban wrap. Drinks had the same outcome as my gourmet brownie milkshake failed to impress, yet my partner was over the moon with his berry smoothie. If you're coming with kids, I highly recommend this establishment. They'll be thoroughly entertained with the outdoor play area. Service was very friendly but average. Orders kept on being mixed up.

Great tasty food, plenty options for our lunch! Also has a great farm shop with lots of fresh produce. Tasty Nougat too, recommend the milk tart and cinnamon flavour. They also supply purified water at their dispenser for a good price. Vegetarian options: Veggie options available Parking: Lots of spots but can be busy at peak times
