A traditional set up lodge with very welcoming staff. The overall look and feel was very pleasant. The location is splendid with awesome views of its surroundings. It really does give you a feel of being in the wild, although the lodge houses themselves are equipped with all luxury accessories required for a good stay.Rooms: 5/5
Awesome stay with one of the best views and kitchens we have experienced during our trip in South Africa.Rooms: 5/5
I needed a place to rest and refresh and Hannah lodge did more than I thought. I enjoyed every moment from the room I slept in to the Game drive. The food was excellent enjoyed Impala and Eiland meat. Breakfast was on point and the staff very friendly and helpful and I loved the fact that the staff eat the same food that we eat. I was very impressed to have meet the owners who are very humble and welcoming. This was my little heaven. I am super happy and grateful about the services I received at Hannah.
The staff are exceptional and the food great. It's such a peaceful place to visit and not too far from Johannesburg. It's very surreal to experience traffic because Giraffe are in the middle of the road but that's traffic I can live with. Can't wait for the next visit
Not good at all. Had no water for the whole weekend when visiting. Reason given: "generator fault" though for a 4 star place and the price, one would at least expect some sort of courtesy towards the issue, there was none. Even had to buy my own bottle of water to brush teeth as management just refused to provide water for this simple necessity. Amongst other things like needing to walk through the whole place carrying all of my own luggage and my wife having a knee injury to find my accommodation as the assistant was not even sure where what room is. Though the list can go on it seems basics were lacking and the overall lodge star rating can be questioned.
Busy place. Wonderful location situated on a hill overlooking the valley. Rooms are comfortable. Meals served buffet style. Their new tented camp looks lovely. Have a look at their Sable breeding project.
The staff was very friendly, the food was delicious and the view was beautiful but management felt the need to segregate blacks and whites with the exception of one couple. The owner kept a distance between himself and black people while the opposite was true for white people.
Beautiful setting and beautiful place. But not all went well. They lost my booking and I had to confirm before they would let me in. The free wifi is included and widely advertised. It is visible on my computer but cannot connect. So there is no telephone in the room. I phone reception from my cell.... sorry for the inconvenience, there is not internet in the rooms. In the restaurant I asked one waiter to please change the music after the same song played six times over. He did nothing. I then went to the restaurant manager who listened and changed it over. Come on.... did nobody else hear that? who is in charge of music, how did that even happen? I go to my room... I received a remote for the dstv, but the tv is not the receiving mode for the dstv. But there is not telephone so one can phone the 24 hr on duty reception. I really did not want to walk the few hundred meter to the reception.... So without wifi and without dstv..... in a room without an aircon. Come on guys.... this is supposed to be 4 star. I am a proud South African but not proud among a lot of overseas guests. Very disappointed in the place to say the very least after I looked forward to my stay. I feel robbed..... PS I just tried to get in contact with Hannah Lodge management but their website is not responding..... wow
Overall the property is beautiful and well kept and the food they serve is delicious. My only complaint would be the service. I had asked the front desk for an extra towel and the guy who was working that night refused to give me one. He was more interested in talking to his friend rather then helping me out. Another person who was standing behind me asked if there was a house keeper onsite to help me with my request and again he said they all went home fore the day and he couldn't help me. So, I decided to write my expirence on the notebook they keep in the front lobby for guest to write in only to find out the next day that someone ripped out the page I had wrote my experience onyou could clearly see it was ripped out. I have never been to a hotel that denied a guest an extra towel whether it's a 3 star or a 5 star, it's just bad practice. I had other issues but very minor. I could've told the owners of the lodge about my experience they were staying at the lodge the same time I was but I thought I'd handle it the appropriate way and that was through manegment. I later told the manager what had happened and I left my email with him and he told me he'd reach out to me to let me know the issue was handled but never did. Had he took the time out of his day to contact me I would not be writing this negative review. It's sad because I really wanted to come back but the service wasn't so good so for that reason I will not be returning to this location.
Great place to learn and experience the nature. Best experience and builds a connection with people that want to experience the same interest in life. ABT gives you a once in a lifetime experience with the wildlife.Rooms: 4/5
