Description

Harry Gwala Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Premier Soccer League club Maritzburg United.In 2008 the stadium had a capacity of 10,000, but around September 2009 it was upgraded to 12,000 seats. The reason for this, was an urgent need for more high capacity stadiums in the region, particular being requested as part of the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup. The stadium, was initially planned to be able to seat 20,000 supporters, but the municipality revealed, that with the funds at their disposal, the stadium will have a capacity of just 12,000.The stadium is named after ANC politician Harry Gwala.

Great atmosphere, but they still need to work on their toilets and traffic management after the game.
This stadium is world-class. It offers great views of its wonderful blue synthetic track. The toilets are immaculate and even the tuck shop is kitted out with granite tops. Almost no expense was spared to bring this stadium to the international athletic scene. The newly completed parking area also adds immense value to the venue. One major deficit is the lack of warm up track. When this is added, it will be a 5-star venue.
Nice crowd. The team hardly wins though, so that sucks.

It's a great stadium although we visited while it was raining but believe me we had so much joy. It was lovely
It was amazing. Good atmosphere, lot of vibes. Nonetheless, the stadium itself has a huge gap for upgrade.
This Is Not Friendly For Big Games, There Are Few Seats n When You Standing You Can't See Because There's A Huge Fance That You Have To Watch Through It. It's Such A Disgrace

Top class stadium, has good seating and good view of the pitch on match days. Also vendors inside and outside the stadium on matchdays for food to eat. Also has a tuckshop to buy food to eat. Good restrooms to use as well. Nice open stadium, good atmosphere.
