Heron Banks Golf Club next to the
Vaal River in Vaalpark proudly ope­
ned its first nine holes earlier this
month. The Danie Obermeyer­desig­
ned 18 hole golf course sets the tone
for outstanding natural beauty. It in­
corporates the wetlands alongside
the river bank, giving a distinct
‘links­style’ character. The golf aca­
demy is available to all and offers a
driving range, putting and chipping
areas. Lessons are also available on

Played Heron Banks, it's a challenging course, well though out layout. Pro-shop on premises is well stocked and assisted with everything before our game. Golf carts are petrol versions, new and cleaned after play. It's a estate and very security conscious and keeps track of everyone entering and your vehicle, thus only you can exit with your vehicle. Wild animals on course is nice added feature and water almost everywhere, makes it a beautiful place to just stop and admire between shots. Talking about "shot", the club house and bar is stocked and modern, great service and food. The practice putting green is actually the same speed as the course greens, that makes it worthwhile warming up there. Driving range tuned my drives before we hit no.1, I was happy hitting the first straight down the middle. I wish I can play this place every week.

Hard to believe everything was under water a month ago. Fantastic work Heron banks team. Fantastic course for a golf day with exceptional food on offer!
Had a family weekend booked at Heron Banks. All arrangements well taken care off. Arrived late was kept informed on arrangements and food well prepared. Staff very helpful and friendly. Golf course looks exceptional and well managed. Thank you for a great weekend.
Best day we had ever. Superb golf course. Beautiful greens. Friendly staff and delicious food. The Walk By Faith golf day for Brandon Moolman was a super experience and thank you to the owners that made this day extra special. A huge applause for Robbie and staff.
This is one of my more awkward reviews. So apologies if it doesn't sound right. Golf course is amazing, green and well looked after. The club house is clean and tidy. Always friendly. And up until today, my wife and I always enjoy the fresh food. However, today was different. We went out to you for a lovely quiet lunch. I ordered my cheeseburger with chips to which no surprise chips couldn't be made due this the incompetence of Eskom and its board. Not your fault. Fair enough. The problem comes with the Chicken Prego burger my wife ordered, which I specifically asked the waiter to please make sure the chicken is fully cooked as my wife is pregnant. I we got this. Cold, raw chicken. Half was cooked, half was raw. And loadshedding can't be used here as an excuse as there is a stunning gas braai outdoor. The excuse was loadshedding. The onions were cold too. My patties were cold. My suggestion would be.. .. if you can't make it warm, then rather don't. It's unacceptable. And as of now, my wife isn't feeling very well.
At any given time, playing golf is a remarkable experience because of the serenity offered by the beautiful outdoors. I just love being in sync with nature... Wow! Heron Banks. What a beautiful golf course. The landscape is on point. Playing golf along the beautiful view of the Vaal River is always great. Thanks to Knights Golf Club for the Invite. I had a great time. Looking forward to another round of golf with very remarkable members of Knights Golf Club
Fantastic course and very affordable fees. Course itself is very unforgiving and any mistakes will result in a lost ball. Tons of fun though and great facilities on site.
What an awesome layout. The greens are immaculate, the fairways are the same. Unfortunately it's a fairly new estate so is a lot of building and traffic. When established it will be one of the better courses to book a round at.
Very beautiful and peacful. Your sunset watches will be visited by wildlife having their mealgrass per usual..
Friendly people. Great accomodation. Beautiful view. Very neat and tidy. Exactly the kind of break away anybody could need.
