10 minutes inside , 1 week wait! I had to renew my passport, I started the process online which probably helped, but I was in home affairs office for only about 10 mins. The air conditioning inside was a nice surprise. My passport was ready for collection after ONE WEEK!

Why do I have to sit here the whole day to simply COLLECT my passport.. There is nothing complex to this process, hand over the passport that's all it is very very simple. I have now driven 80km TWICE to collect my passport. The first time there were 6 staff members who seems to be on vacation..the only consultant behind the counter was having a long social conversation without helping ANYONE in the cue.. I sat there for 2 hours NO SERVICE FOR ANYONE. These people simply doesn't want to work. Today I phone them before I drive all the way, they say that the system is working and if it didn't work they could still handover my passport. I drive all the way, and guess what there is a que all the way outside the building.. I go inside to ask the security lady is that the queue I want to collect my passport. She says "no it's for applications". And then she says; "No the system is not working". I tell her that I phoned and that they said that they could still handover my passport. And she just says "oh oky go stand in the queue the queue that goes all the way outside the building. HOW DOES THIS WORK??. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, IF THESE PEOPLE CAN'T THINK OF A SOLUTION TO MAKE A PLAN TO MAKE PICKING UP A passport More functional then I would really love to let them pay me for the hours I waste sitting here to PICK UP A PASSPORT. Do your work or go home.

The securaty at the dore is racist, rude and cocky. And directs people to the wrong places. Needs to be fired. Im sure there are more qualified people out there to take hes place.

I phone to home affairs, they pick up the phone without greeting, or talking, just put the phone down, trying to phone again, phone is engaged.
