Horeb Temple F.G.C. is one of the oldest churches founded upon by the late Pastor J.F. Rowlands which was built in 1941.
Being one of the early churches, it has been host to many revival meetings,crusades and outreach meetings in which a lot of people were saved, healed and delivered. Many renowned gospel musicians, singers, Pastors, evangelists and public speakers have stemmed out from Horeb. Over 70 years old, it holds onto great memories of what God has done to help the community of Clairwood. it has become a heritage site, being one of the very few remaining.
Currently, we are under the Pastorship of Pastor George Ankadu, who stepped in just over 20 years ago fulfilling the plans that God destined for him. Under his Leadership, we have seen the current church being extended into a dining hall, an office, store-room and rest-rooms. A great achievement in 2012 saw the over 70 year old ceiling and roof come down. A brand new ceiling, roof and carpeted floors were put in.
Pastor Ankadu is a very humble man of God who preaches the uncompromising word of God unashamedly daily. He has done a lot to make dynamic progress in leaps and bounds for Horeb Temple as a church. He serves alongside his wife, Sister Selvum Ankadu, sons , daughter, in-laws and a host of grand-children who all have been a source of strength to him. The church has truly seen progress physically, materially, financially, socially and above all spiritually over the last 20 years.
We have different departments which are currently active, including the ladies, men, children and youth. We preach the Perfect Word and offer Pure Worship to our Saviour, Jesus Christ. We stand as a beacon of hope to the lost in Clairwood and its surrounding areas. Our purpose is to reach out to the lost at all cost. To bring in the multitudes as Jesus would have done in this time and age. To stand and make intercession for our community, city, country and the countries of the world. To make disciples. And to "GO" into all the world.
