They don't even deserve a 1 star that's how low the service is. I stayed for hours only to be told the ward I have to go to is closed so I shall come the following day. I then did, took time to get help but eventually did, opened a file for R75 and was told its a fee for opening the file cause it was my first time. I had blood tests and was told to come the following week for results. Today I'm in for collecting results, it's been 3 hrs and I haven't got them, now they telling me I need to pay R75 again for a temporary file, they even said to annokd woman the system has changed so they need her to open a new file so that she can pay. I know it's a government hospital but in the first place people don't have money hence come here to pay all the time is unnecessary . Worst part paying just to get results hayi chaa. Look at all these people waiting to pay and they only want cash. Hayi ncaaa Nkosi.
Care at Tembisa has always been great until lately. My family and I have received top notch medical care and been treated with respect and compassion. However, last year, my father had to go for an op and they kept rescheduling, they kept him there for four days and each day he only got fed lunch because the next day he was supposed to be operated on. Then it turns out they only operate once a week, so he had to come back. At least then he received the necessary care. Today, he was to go for an evaluation, they were sent all around to different departments and some nurses even refused to read the referral. They were there all day and still no appointment. My brother had to sign a refusal to get treatment despite this not being the case. The staff there has becomeuncaring and don't even know their own admin procedures or where to send anyone.
No lie, some Nurses at this hospital are very rude, but most were very understanding towards me. I was in a very difficult position where by I almost lost my life, I dnt really want to go in to details, but I really appreciate Dr Lombard and Dr Kheswa, they were attentive and caring, they are really God sent. The hospital has really good doctors, thanks for the team I received that day, pity I dnt remember all of them.
Hi I brought my Dad in, he had gangerine in the toe, so he had to be admitted. The casualty ward/dept was scary. But the security guards were compassionate, brought him water. At the help desk Sophie was helpfull I kept calling to ask how he is doing and she checked. Later the next day he was still in casualties, I went to see him. This friendly lady came from nowhere and introduced herself as Sophie. She was wonderful. When my Dad went to a ward he was in ward 19. The staff was nice. Richard and Dr Moloi and the nursing staff was kind to him. Unfortunately when he came home he suffered complications and we took him back, but the casualties was too busy to attend to him. They were stretched thin he was then transferredto ward 10... and passed away the 24-11-2022I can't complain about Tembisa Hospital. I wasn't the one lying there, but I could see compassion towards my Dad. I could see they tried. The garden was nice and clean, the wards were clean. Just wish there were more beds and more staff in the casualty ward.
I gave birth at Tembisa on the 15 of August @15:35 bed no 06. I was assisted by 3 nurses and i must say, i was the difficult one, couldn't cooperate but those nurses were very understanding and encouraged me that i can do it, while i kept saying "I can't I cant". They really treated me good I must, pity the pain was too great for me to remember their names. Thank you so much
My sister died in this hospital in 2011 unattended when the family visit her they were shocked to see her mouth full of tablets just shoved in her mouth for her to swallow but she couldn't because her Jaws were stiff my sister died of menengitis and when they went to see her they wouldn't let us see her they had already moved her from her bed and said the mortuary was closed they must come the next day I'm hurt till this day MHSRIP I hate that hospital
My mother went there as a first timer, everything went well and quick. Second time same thing, wow, impressive. May it forever be the same.
I always heard stories that when people go to Tembisa hospital they never come back but I had a different experience. I got shot while they tried to rob us and I landed in Tembisa hospital. They took very good care of me and I am still healing. Don't believe in word of mouth rather experience something yourself. Thank you to all the nurses doctors and cleaners that work around the clock to save lives
I received the worst treatment from the stuff. They are all rude and heartless. I was in labour pains for three days by the time I got there I was mistreated by all the stuff. They wanted me to climb beds as if I was normal. And spoke to me badly. Thank God all went well with me. Next time I become pregnant I'll make sure I have medical aid. I am never going back to a public hospital. They treat people like animals. Especially Tembisa hospital. They have a culture of treating people bad. And nothing is done about it.
This hospital is an example of a failed government the staff are so overwhelmed they dont even know what to do. This is so sad. If I had a choice between going to this hospital and staying at home dying Id rather go out with dignity. Shocking how our government just does not care.
