InterContinental Johannesburg O.R Tambo Hotel, South Africa

This place is definitely not priced for the SA market but more for the tourist. The rooms I am not sure about as I didn't go to the rooms. The food is fantastic and very well prepared. The continental breakfast is R285 per person and includes a wide variety of foods and well as hot breakfast.... like I said it's more catered for the tourists. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Nearby activities: The hotel is on the same grounds as OR thambo which is in walking distance to your flight.

The InterContinental is more expensive than other nearby hotels, but worth every penny. It is literally directly across from the international arrivals hall at the airport. You can't miss it as you walk out the door. The service was outstanding from the moment we approached the front doors with our luggage. We were warmly welcomed with a bottle of cold water while our luggage was taken care of. Reception was very welcoming, and had connecting rooms for us as we requested. The rooms were beautiful and elegant. Everything was spotless and in good working order. Room service was delicious and reasonably priced. In the morning when we were ready to head back over to the airport, we seemed a little confused as to exactly where to go to check in for our flights, so someone very graciously walked with the us pushing the luggage cart the entire way to the correct check-in counter. That's outstanding service! We will book here again at our next overnight layover in Johannesburg.

It’s an awesome place to stay on layovers that are at the beginning or end of Safari’s. We have stayed there many times and once had tiger our travel agent to change hotels so we could stay there. I look forward to staying there because it means we are going on safari or just did a nice long one.Rooms: 5/5

We stayed 1 night after a long flight from Atlanta - staff was friendly and the restaurant was great. We had an early flight from JNB next day and had a nice breakfast before we headed out. I really enjoyed this Hotel Rooms: Nice room with a great shower and bathroom

A very good airport hotel having stayed in a couple of airport hotels. It is less than 5 mins walk to the int and local airport. The front desk was very nice and friendly and they were quite efficient in checking us in. The rooms were tastefully furnished and equipped with standard facilities. The bathroom has both a tub and shower. The hotel has a gym and a spa as well as restaurant and bar. Food in the restaurant was quite affordable and nice. There is a flight display board to enable travelers monitor their flights. Being close to the airports, one could easily walk to the airport and buy small stuff needed. Overall, the hotel maintained its high standards and I will definitely stay again.

Well placed hotel and very convenient for the airport but the service left a lot to be desired. The phone in my room did not work, so I had to go to reception to order food and get any sort of service. The hotel also overcharged me 7500 ZAR and three weeks later I’m still waiting for them to refund it. I even visited the hotel again in person to seek a resolution. Not at all what I would expect from a global brand and super off putting; probably wouldn’t stay here or at any IHG in the future because of this. Walkability: Very close to the airport
