Jackson Dam

Dam is a beautiful place to visit especially with family Great for a braai day Fishing Or just taking the kids or dogs out for some fresh air The Grass hasn't been properly maintained like before that's the only Big No No about J Dam

Lovely , tranquil place. Fishing for the not so serious, walking around the dam with a dog or two and your Sunday ...can be perfect in Alberton.

Another gem of the South of Joburg. A great venue for picnics, braais and birthday parties, especially if you’re looking for a safe outdoor venue for the kids to be entertained. I might have even spotted some people fishing. There is no entrance fee. Parking is safe and secure. Facilities and ablutions are clean. It’s easy to spend the entire day here so come prepared. There aren’t that many trees thus you might struggle to find a shady spot if you arrive late. I visited over a long weekend and the venue was surprisingly quiet. It was a peaceful day at the dam with friends!

Nice place to spend a lazy weekend day! There is plenty of catch and release fishing done which is nice to see! There is a lovely party park for kids. Families can enjoy some of the covered areas or have a nice braai with the available facilities. The only downside is that the toilets are in a derelict condition and remember to take your own toilet paper.

Lovely place for a family outing. Very well kept bathrooms could probably be in a touch better condition but all considering it's a ideal spot for a family picnic Playground: Suitable to a variety of ages Restrooms: Clean and in working order could do with some general maintenance Dog-friendliness: Fenced in so ideal for dogs Picnic area: There are both braai facilities and shaded areas set up for picnics

My wife and I always take our grandson to Jackson Dam. It's so safe and such a happy and fun place to take the kids to spend the day or afternoon. There's ample parking and its always neat and clean. The kids have a varity of things to do...We simply LOVE Jackson Dam. Went there this morning. Saw a gentleman pull out a massive carp. See photo... Saw something I never saw before...a huge birthday party. That wasn't what surprised me, what surprised me was that a beautiful tent like structure was erected by that purpose. Wow it looked great. The way it was set up was beautiful. I didn't know that you could erect something like that.

Nice place to picnic, braai, go fishing and a little play park for the kids.

Great place. I did the 10 km hike and I really enjoyed it. Wasn't tough, I have never hiked 10 km before. Clean and beautiful outdoor. No chance of COVID19 infection there. Great for family and dogs.

Really nice and clean place. No entrance fee is required. Perfect place to walk your dog or have a picnic.
