Rietvlei zoo Parkrun

What a beautiful setting! Friendly group of volunteers. Well organised Rapport wonderful. . Festive atmosphere, lots of stalls! DEFINITELY must visit soon. Ample parking. Visible Cargaurds.

Has a good varied course. There are 2 challenging uphills and about half of the course is shaded. Rietvlei are constantly improving the course. If you don’t mind running with a big group, +/- 800 people then this parkrun venue is for you. Also be mindful that dog owners are allowed to bring their dogs as long as they are on a short leash.

Nice place to keep your mental health n physical fitness

The best attended parkrun we've been to this year. Adequate parking and a good trail to run/walk. The track is even and has a serene feel to it with the route running between small dams and reeds. A natural place for an awesome parkrun

Such an interesting and fun venue with so much going on. Parkrun, car wash, garden nursery, fishing, mountain biking, camping, 3 food spots... Great day out!

What a place filled with adventure!! Definitief a must visit for fitness, relaxation and family gatherings.

Parkrun plus. The venue caters for way more than a parkrun. Lots of parking available inside even though on arrival many were parking outside the venue. It’s well coordinated, has a festive atmosphere at the start, and plenty of Marshalls to guide or take care of those who could get into trouble along the route. The course has a steady climb, mainly on dirt and gravel track so keep watching the road, as there are many distractions, and the road has a few rocky patches to trip you up. It’s also a big field, +-1500 the day we ran, and can be hot and dusty in places. Once past the many lappas, which can be hired, you follow well signposted Parkrun signs, into grassland, later on through a tree covering before open veld again, this time bordering a neighbouring school, passed two dams, and fishing ponds, through some reeds and then the course heads back to the finish area. Many channels make for an efficient finish. Adequate toilet facilities at the start and end. Dogs and prams allowed. The run occurs inside the Rietvlei Zoo Farm, which has many other facilities, too numerous to mention. A Parkrun I wouldn’t miss.

Friendly and helpful staff. The place is clean and tidy with signs all around. Lovely play area for kids.

I absolutely love this place to go on walks it ranges from 5km to I think 15 or so which is amazing. The 5km is a good walk not too many hills and is simply beautiful. The trails are kept clean and the signs for each walk are clear and easy to follow. You can buy a card for 10 walks for R150 and the cars doesn't expire. The staff is super helpful. Rietvlei also has picnic spots, dams to fish, bike trails, restaurants, petting zoo and a few other things as well it's a great place to take the family.

Walking in nature in safe environment , getting some exercise... Awesome !
