Rudest stuff and money demanding as if they don't have salary..am so disappointed by the level of service I received from the charge office stuff, they work together with porters in order to request money from us buyers. My potatoes was taken to charge office by the porter, when I went there with the porter who had taken my potatoes there , there was no one there, I was told I have to wait for them to return they went to buy veggies,I had to wait more than an hour to get my stuff back wch inconvenienced me, am failing to understand if their on duty why are they going to stock during office hours , worst part is that I was demanded to pay for my potatoes in order for them be released, I agreed with a porter to hire another one as he was about to knock off , the charge office demanded money or else I was supposed to get my potatoes on my Monday . First I don't understand why should I pay them , while their getting a full salary for doing their job. Is what Joburg market call customer service were stuff are rude and keep customers kept waiting for over an hour?

If you require fresh produce in bulk, this is the only place to shop. Buying direct from the market will save you loads of money. It is a bit rough and not like going to your local grocer, could be cleaner but it's definitely the place to go if you're requiring volume at the right price.

If you want to see the most bustling place in Johannesburg, come to the Joburg Market between 5AM and 7AM. Hundreds of vendors around Gauteng come with their delivery vehicles to stock up on fresh produce for the day. It's a crazy experience to say the least!

Great place to get Fresh veggies with a wider range or for small business who wish to sell can come stock up on products. Okay with that said this place is pretty dirty I saw someone say it's clean on the reviews where!? Also go with someone if your a female there's a lot of men there who's goal is just to harass women but a simply F off will send them off. If your not quick witted or street smart your not prepped for this place parking is horrendous best advice I can give arrive early know what you want and leave asap.

World Class Market Place. Very Convenient and a Marvelous Place to shop. Especially The King Fresh Market. Fantastic Products, Fresh, High Quality Products. Kudos to Nico, A Well of Wisdom, Knowledge and Advice on the Veggies Market.

No rule of the road and parking is followed...security is useless...no respect for shoppers/users amongst each other.

This is a absolutely insane market, the stock is better then anything you'd buy in stores. This is simply cause it comes directly from the farm sources. However this is not a simple walk in and purchase market, the market has certain rules to ensure the utmost safety for all parties. 1. All purchases are done via a joburg market card attainable at any of the cashiers within any of the major warehouses. You will be required to fill in a double sided page and present your S.A ID / or country of origin passport. This card works as a pay as you go system loading cash on the card at cashiers on site or EFT in advance. This will be requested by all venders when purchasing. 2. The market starts early, like 4/5 am early. This is when the best produce arrives. I've personally found that Tuesdays / Saturdays are best days to purchase. The early wake up is absolutely worth it. 3. All purchases are without a bulk buys in boxes of produce. There is almost nothing that cannot be found at this market at the highest quality. 4. There are different warehouses for different produce. Onions and potatoes, Fruits Vegetables Alcohol and meat. 5. Purchases at the market opens up at 6am. So arriving early allows you to walk around to see produce and hold certain produce so to make purchases easier. 6. There is a store on the far end of the market that takes cash purchases they do smaller amounts of the same produce and stock moves fast, if the produce gets sold out in the main warehouses this is a good check.

The JHB Market has a wide fresh variety of products and we always get what we need and more. But the Google Trading Hours is not correct, so we drove all the way from Potchefstroom this morning 27/12/2022 just to find that the JHB Market were closed. This is unacceptable and would like the JHB Market to regularly update there Trading hours or to inform there client's that they will be closed so that all client's can do the necessary planning.

Great for personal shopping. Very open to farmers who want to sell through the market. Multiple market agents ready to help sell your produce.

Interesting place to shop for fruit and vegetables. Remember to take your own trolley as there are none.
