Run by a grumpy old man who likes to shout at people for no reason. Arguing with customer to feel important. Bad service, driers always busy. Avoid!!!!! Seriously it’s not worth your time. Ruined my day. I did not understand the very vaguely stated rules he says they are clear but the way they are displayed without context is not very helpful actually. I would have been very happy to comply, and didn’t mind going somewhere else, but before I knew what was even happening this man, who clearly has some issues, flew into a rage. I think he has been treated badly by life and lives for the moments he can yell at strangers to feel important. If it wasnt so annoying it would be sad. Bitter and sad person. There are lots of other laundromats nearby that do great service and treat people with basic respect.
Had a really awful experience at this laundry today. Went there already yesterday afternoon, managed to do 3 loads of washing but, as the place was very busy, I couldn’t dry everything for the lack of tumble dryers available. Returned this morning to finish the drying, to be met by an old man who first refused me access as his house rule is « no drying alone », meaning one has to wash there if one wants to use the tumble dryers. I explained that I was there already yesterday, did my washing but could not finish the drying. Then, he let me in but kept screaming at me, in front of all the customers, saying that I was a liar, and will never be allowed again in his place. And he carried on and on… I couldn’t leave as my stuff was already in the tumble dryer but being the centre of attention, while being screamed at, was certainly not my plan today and made me feel very uncomfortable. For sure, I will never go back there but I also wanted this insane and abusive attitude to be noticed.
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!! I used the dryer without washing my clothes there and the owner of the laundromat starts having a go at me for using the dryer without doing my washing there I admit it’s my fault, but I was in a rush and genuinely didn’t see the sign on the machine. I said sorry, got my stuff and started to leave, but he kept going on and on. He was so rude and clearly doesn’t know anything about customer service. On a separate note, if they are so worried about electricity being expensive, just put the price of drying up, the fact that a laundromat doesn’t allow drying only is ridiculous.
The owner of this place is awful! Only go to this place if you feel like having a fight with someone who obviously has his own issues. Really unnecessary aggression and disrespect. I suppose he has a small world and it makes him feel bigger to shout at normal people who want to use his service.
Affordable prices and convenient location, they even have a coin machine for change and you can buy detergent. I suggest you bring head phones and a book, the owner is loud and rude to his employees. He can be a bit strange too. But the laundry gets cleaned for a good price.
The owner is the rudest person I have ever spoken to. Our baby was born Prem and we urgently needed somewhere to dry prem baby clothes and blankets. After ranting on the phone about how I am wasting his time, the owner said "you have your problems and I have mine. Find somewhere else." After a really tough day where I was barely keeping it together, this had me in tears.
Joe Soap laundromat is always clean and most machines in a working condition. Self-service. Would've been great if the opening time was from 8:00am. Business hours online also faulty - Joe Soap is open 7 days a week 9am to 9:30pm. Washing powder and cash machines inside. R25 a wash, R4 per 5 minutes drying.
Place is okay, but the old owner is not fit to run a business. Told me it’s loadshedding when none was planned at the time and machines were clearly on. Also said my duvet which is slightly too big for my 5kg Lg machine at home won’t fit in his larger speedqueens of course that is bull and the main reason I popped in. It is like he does not want any business. Maybe that’s what he deserves - zero customers so he can learn how to deliver some level of customer service. Go to I love my laundry instead.
Spotlessly clean, no-nonsense laundromat with powerful Speed Queen machines that will have a big load washed and dried in less than an hour. The rules are perfectly reasonable, but there will always be someone who wants to bend them, judging from some of the silly negative reviews. Bring new type R5 coins for the washers and R2 coins for the driers. There is a change machine. Closed on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Very clean and neat and well priced. Machines are in good working conditions. Abiding to lockdown rules.
