Jurita Bakery

Purchased a cake a few years ago that was mouldy, when I took the cake back, the owner shouted and kicked us out, saying there's absolutely nothing wrong with their food. If I didn't want to eat the cake, I can just get out of his store. Never purchased their mouldy food items ever again.

Although Jurita Bakery has been going for decades, the new management has seriously lost touch with their clientele. Jurita bakery has been in business for years. They have the most delicious rissoles, French custard slices, variety of breads, etc. They offer ready prepared meals and their pizza is reasonably priced and delicious. All their wares are freshly baked on site. When they advertise FRESH CREAM you are guaranteed that it is indeed fresh cream. I pop in regularly for freshly baked rolls or breads. The staff just need to jack up their attitude & get a bit more lively. Before they know it the current owners / staff will turn the bakery into a relic if they don’t find their personalities.

Used to be a lot better but seems to have lost a bit of quality control.

I like the bakery itself and their food, I have been visiting for years now. I don't like the street or the car guards to be very honest. I know some people who feel the same way.

I Bought 5 different cakes and they didnt taste fresh, they were stale the taste wasnt very nice. Also bought 2 pies chicken mayo and pepper steak and they tasted bland and old.

Another bakery thats stood the test of time. I can remember going here as a child. They still make one of the best Prawn Rissoles. I also remember their custard slices but that isnt the same anymore. Brings back memories of easter time when they have those Massive Easter Chocolate Bunnies on sale. Some of the cakes and rolls etc are still great. Havent had their cakes in a while. It does get rather busy and parking can be a problem at times. So get there early to avoid queues.

I really love their food, their cheese rolls are to die for and the cream donuts are fresh with decent fresh cream

Fresh, consistent, best bread in Joburg, love their hotcross buns when in season.

Not as good as it was a few year's ago. Service has taken a backseat, The pie I bought was sour and hard so must have taken out of the old stock. Please bring back the vibe from years ago when everyone was smiling and everything was tasty.

Do not expect a modren layed out bakery but all cakes, pastry and buiscuits are so nice. They tell what is in the cake. Is it with eggs made or without. Is it fresh cream or not real cream. The shop is supper clean and personal helpful.
