Kambaku Game Lodge

What a magical place! Amazing location. Superb service. Incredibly delicious food. We stayed for 6 nights and it was definitely not too long. We had high expectations but Kambaku really exceeded them. We arrived and got greeted by a family of elephants during sunset! Elvis is such a great Driver and we would always prefer to go for a drive with him over driving on our own just because he is so well connected with all the other drivers and knows where to find what!

Kambaku River Lodge is situated in one of the most beautiful locations in the bush, right on the crocodile river in the Malelane area near the south of the Kruger National Park Evenings here are unbelievably special with the sounds of hippos, and fish eagles. You can sit back with your drink and enjoy watching the array of colours in the sky as the sun sets. The team of staff at Kambaku are on the ball and will look after your every need. The master spotter guide "Elvis" will spoil you to some amazing sightings in the Kruger. We were lucky enough to see the big five and more. The super hospitable and friendly owner Leanne is passionate about the bush and wildlife photography and has constructed a professional level hide for photographers right on the river. Kambaku is a magical place to experience for wildlife photographers and nature lovers who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Not a single bad thing to say about Kambaku River Lodge. The location is incredible, the staff are friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. The day excursions they offer are amazing - we had two amazing safari days with Elvis, the lodge's safari guide who has eyes like a hawk, as well as an incredible Panorama tour on our final day that showcased the areas most beautiful spots. The room was clean, spacious, and offered a private and intimate spot to enjoy breakfasts, dinners, as well as the beautiful river that the lodge is situated on. The food was also excellent. We can't wait to come back here again in the future and recommend it to anyone looking for a true Kruger safari experience while also enjoying a special touch of luxury.

It is a fantastic lodge, especially for the price and location to Malelane Gate. It's good to be away from the gate 20 min drive. But you have your own river view with hippos , elephants, and other wildlife visiting. The staff are so friendly, and you feel like you're in your own little slice of paradise, at one with nature. LOVED IT! Great boutique lodge, perfect place to relax post game drives. Overlooking the Crocodile River and we saw Elphants, hippos, and water bucks just grazing around the river and the property. Looking forward to coming back.

Absolutely perfect - really friendly/helpful staff, beautiful setting with views of elephants, hippos, warthogs etc alongside the river, great food, on-site spa. The lodge will organise all the safaris too. Nothing I would have changed!Rooms: 5/5

We had an awesome stay over here. Leanne & here Team are very helpful, kind and supportive. Luke has always checked out on us to see if everything is fine and never gave us any feeling of beeing over watched or something. Even due sickness they helped us to go to the hospital and Leanne stayed there with us for more than 5hrs wich we‘re more than great full for. Thank you all - we hope to see you someday again!

All I can say is that the Kambaku River Lodge is amazing!!! My family of 5 spent 4 days at this amazing resort. The resort was breathtaking and was even more amazing than the pictures online. Leanne did a great job coordinating all aspects of our stay including meals, safari tours, transportation from the airport, and golf. I also have to give a special shout to Dennis. He was remarkable and really made us feel welcome the moment that we met him at the airport. Also, the meals were outstanding during our stay. We all commented that we wish we had these high quality meals in the states. We will be back in the future to stay at this wonderful resort.

Want to keep this quiet ! a simply outstanding place, location and a brilliant host. Such a lovely attention to detail on everything and a place to relax and take in the wildlife. The food was all home made and just perfect for the stay. If you did have any query on anything you need, all you have to do is ask and you will be very well looked after. Genuinely sad to leave this amazing place we loved it and lovely staff all round. We just loved it ! Phil & Amanda x

An unbelievable lodge with large, comfortable rooms with everything you might need and every detail carefully thought of. Rooms are private and various lookout decks are available for all guests to either be on their own or to socialise. Ideally located on the Crocodile river with the view across to The Kruger National Park changing by the minute. Each room has a fire pit which is lit in the evening and the most delicious meals are delivered to your rooms. The Spa is definitely worth a visit with a lovely range of therapies available. The hosts, Lea and Tony have created a magic environment for nature and photographic enthusiasts with a special hide equipped for hours of bird and game viewing and plenty of camera mounts and equipment to allow even the most inexperienced photographers to capture the perfect shot. There are regular photographic workshops held throughout the year which would be well worth attending. I really look forward to returning to Kambaku soon.
