Amazing! Friendly staff! They go above and beyond!!! The villas are BEAUTIFUL! Underfloor heating keeps the open plan, stylish villas warm. Beautiful inside/outside shower is safe and immerses you in the wild. Zebra, buck, warthogs and the odd rhino!!! Beautiful, scenic, relaxing. Incredible spa. Can organise an outdoor picnic. Definitely worth the 15km off-road drive. Make sure you go in a rental car or a 4x4 because there are potholes along the way. When you enter the property, you leave your vehicle and are transported around in the Karkloof safari vehicles and at night there are 4x4s.

To unwind, relax, ultimate luxury. This is the place to go to. We loved our visit. The Thai massage was indescribable in every way. The sauna,steam relaxation the best. The game walks with a qualified zoologist Brumer was so meaningful. Sunset and the source of the Umgeni River flowing thru this reserve was magical. Beautifully appointed rooms. Dinner: delicious, creative, fabulous. Game Drive: Early morning seeing the sun rise and Brumer our amazing guide added to our experience and enjoying hot drinks. Homemade rusks and healthy nibbles was up our street. Imparted interesting history about the area. Leisurely healthyBreakfast on the patio again fabulous. Karkloof is perfect for a special celebration, pamper week end, honeymoon, spoil myself/yourself. The tranquility is breathtakingly indescribeable.....one has to experience it. Quick journey from Durban. MINUS: A terrible dirt road of about 10kms which took us almost 30 to 40 minutes. With good weather. A 4x4 is perfect. No low cars. Rainy weather be careful Once you get to this place you are "locked" in until you depart. Dinner is a 4 course with limited options at R500 p.p. It is an expensive place by normal standards but then there is a price tag for quality, experience, ambiance, class, beauty. For us it was a full on enjoyable experience from the moment we arrived until we departed with a feeling of elation, tranquility and satisfaction. Moments to remember. As I write this review my mind drifts off to that gentle thai massage, soothing music relaxing all my senses. The tranquil safe walks and game drives. Celebrating something special. Go for it....enjoy and have a memory forever. Lots come in for the Thai massage.
An amazing experience. Treated like a royality from the time we made our booking. With calls made to find out our preferences before even arriving..... The rooms were modern, clean and neat with a beautiful view. The staff made a great impression going above and beyond to cater to our every need. Marvelous, Tenai and Blooma are just a few of the staff who made an impression on us. The spa area and treatments were relaxing and rejuvenating. This is great escape only a short distance from the hustle of the urban area, it is a secluded getaway is all it looks like in the pictures.

Buffet could use more variety...for such top star lodge I was very disappointed. Got no value for money at all
