Kolkol Mountain Lodge

Kolkol is amazing. We stayed in the Sewejaartjie Cabin, and I think is one of the best of all the cabins for privacy. The hot tub faces the mountains, and you can't see anyone else, which is fabulous. The cabin itself is very well laid out, love the big fireplace in the lounge area, with lots of wood provided. I did take some 360 photos and posted them on Google, I think they do a better job of explaining how great the cabin is. Overall, what a wonderful location, and we would love to try out some of the other cabins soon.

This was a wonderful experience. The cottage itself Painted Lady, was charming. Constructed with stone and logs made from rock and trees from the local area. You felt as if you were stepping into a Wilbur Smith novel somewhere in remote Africa. Every detail has been considered by the hosts. The KolKol wood fired heated plunge pool was already warming when we arrived and the rainy and blustery weather contributed to the experience when we slipped into the warm water with Champagne in hand as the weather swirled around the cottage. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and the sitting room area was comfortable and cozy in front of the log fire. The bedroom and bathroom were beautifully decorated and a the mattress excellent quality. In the morning the weather was clear and blue skies revealed the stunning view across the mountains and feynbos. We will definitely be back and would recommend this to any couple who want to get away from it all and spend some quality time together. Rooms: Authentic and luxurious, very private. Nearby activities: Some nice wine farms close by Safety: Very safe. Walkability: There are some mapped walking trails at the resort Food & drinks: Bring your food and drinks with you, some items are provided including 6 free range eggs. Noteworthy details: It's a good idea to take some ice with you. The interent connection is sketchy so download your music before you get there. There is a WiFi speaker provided. The tracks are quite narrow and although a regular car can navigate them, an SUV or Bakkie is preferable. Don't bring a sports car.

Loved the absolute quietness and privacy. Beautiful views and a stunning cottage. We made fire all the time and the wood is provided. Loved everything about our stay and going to make this an Easter Tradition Lovely wooden cabin with all the amenities one could need. Great Braai!!

Wonderful experience We had to book months in advance, but it was well worth the wait. Beautiful views, peaceful and quiet...night sky views are just amazing. Worth the experience. Loads and loads of wood for the hot tub and all the fire places.

Thoughtful hospitality at its finest. From the way the cabins and pods are positioned for privacy to all the smaller details makes KolKol the perfect getaway. Definitely on my list to visit again this winter to fully enjoy the huge fireplace.Rooms: 5/5

We had a lovely stay in the Witwater Pod. It is beautifully decorated! Such a quiet area, perfect place to relax in a hot tub. The Pod is well stocked with everything you need. Also some milk, eggs, butter, coffee, tea and a special touch of rusks. We loved the pizza oven!! What a pleasant stay!Rooms: 5/5

We loved our stay at the firelilypod, it’s stunning and calm place to rest and get away from the madness of everyday life. The view is incredible with over watching the landscapes for days. The decor is sensational, everything to do with our personality and style. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to rest and relax. What an absolutely stunning stay! From the minute we arrived to the very end. I’m going to be honest we had one incident but it’s not even worth mentioning because of David the amazing manager. To be honest I had expectations but it exceeded literally all. If you looking for a relaxing weekend to break away from everything, Kolkol is definitely the place to be at. Stunning views, perfect setting and so clean. Place is well equipped and when I say well equipped just take your clothes and food! Thank you Kolkol

We had a wonderful visit . There were 6 of us who Occupied 3 eco pods and we were all super impressed with our luxurious accommodation and peaceful surroundings . We made pizzas one night which was great fun, and enjoyed the 3km hike very much . It gave us more reason to lay about in the hot tubs all afternoon . Such a wonderful restful place . Special mention must be made of the exceptional service provided by David , the manager , who on learning of our small problem of a power outage went above and beyond , getting an electrician in , bringing us bags of ice and 2 bottles of sparkling wine to apologise for the inconvenience- for which we thought was very thoughtful !!! Thanks so much for a wonderful stay
