Best experience, nature at it's best. My advice visit in morning before it becomes hot or the afternoon to get better experience on animals sight seeing, especially lions and hyenas. Network signal very bad at the reception, even making a electronic payment can take up to 10 minutes to process.Visited onWeekendWait time10–30 minReservation recommendedYes
Wow! Is all in my mind for now. It's spring season so everything is still starting to get beautiful, animals are still a bit hard to spot but we were able to spot a lot of them beautiful, all sized God creation. Because of the climate change in South Africa this animals are decreasing some migrating. Big 5 almost saw it all but hey, we missed some because of number of reasons which some are weather conditions on that day and because of rhino poaching etc.
The Phabeni gate was a smooth drive. we arrived at the gate around 12 and found about 5 people ahead of us. The whole of the checking process took about 4 minutes including typing our details in the system. while the center has a car machine for debit/credit cards we had paid the conservation R110 and gate R46 fee online which made our entry process easier. We spent about 5 hours driving in the park partly due to the speed limit of 50kph and also trying to spot a cheetah, lion and other hard to see animals during the day and they were all worth it. Please know, there is a traffic officer within the park that record speeds especially in the evening when people are rushing to the exit gates. Gates close for exit at 5:30pm..
The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. The process was quick and painless. We saw a leopard within minutes of entertaining the park. The game was plentiful.
Took a game drive and even though it was cloudy and rainy managed to get a snap of some good wild life. Also got to see lions feeding on a hunt. That was nice.
Marvellous safari. Best day was with a tour guide; saw two separate lions, a rhinoceros and many other animals.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
The GAME DRIVE was an extremely lucky for us. Just look at the pictures and videos and you will realize that waking up at 4 AM to be picked up at 5 to be there before 6 AM is well worth it. Be on alert, soon you will yell IMPALA !!! We saw, Leopards, Lions, Lionesses, Cubs Lions, Elephants, Jiraffes, Hienas They look evil and mean, Water Buffalos, Crocodiles, Hippotamus, Zebras and IMPALAS.
Beautiful scenery, no wait at the gate ,staff very friendly and entrance was R110 per person . Saw most of the wild on the phabeni road leading to skukuza. For day visitors the gate closes at 18:30.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
The staff members were extremely helpful and friendly when we entered. Within the first 2km we saw a lazing hyena, not ready to wake or get up yet Visited onWeekdayWait time10–30 minReservation recommendedNot sure
The Kruger is a must for the kids. We did the late afternoon tour which took away the burden of driving on dirt roads and looking out for animals and made it more exploratory and enjoyable. We spotted a lot of animals but missed out on any lions. We saw Sprinkbok, wildebeest, zebras, elephants, giraffes, hyenas and impala.
