Ballito, Durban
A marvelous idea began to take shape in 2010, in a charming village nestled on the north shore of Durban, Ballito. A creative troop founded by New School Productions, lived loud, worshipped music and entertained thousands of love filled fans. These young entertainers constantly impressed and intrigued their local South African residents.
The tale is that of a remarkable bond between artists and spectators from around the globe and this year the show has something spectacular planned for those who feed off the uplifting energy of The Litchi Party.
Litchi Party 2010 was held on the Karibu Litchi Farm, where the event kicked off with 800 patrons. This event was the host to some of KZN’s top local acts, such as Nick Supply & Funky G and hosted over 800 patrons.
2011 was a rather large stepping stone for the Litchi Party, being held at Cane Cutters resort in Ballito and played host to over 2500 patrons. Top South African artists Crazy White Boy were the headlining acts, supported by 25 most popular local and national DJ’s.
2012 was the biggest one yet, held deep within the heart of the Ballito woodlands – the Spogweni Forest. A valley filled with indigenous trees, crystal rivers and the greenest pastures. Whilst close enough to drive from the metropolitan of Ballito, Spogweni still held the feel of nature and scenery which Litchi Party is all about. Bringing International artists Sebastian Ledger (France), Claudia Lovisa (Ibiza) and Stimming (Germany) was the highlight of the event, along with 42 of South Africa’s leaning DJ/Artists. Hosting over 4000 patrons, the Litchi Party was named ‘THE EVENT OF THE YEAR’ according to various media & party goers throughout South Africa.
2013 is sure to be the biggest one yet, with a bigger Venue, More International Artist’s and a bigger reputation to uphold, we are aiming for 5000+ patrons.
