Little Potters School of Clay

About

Providing pottery classes within Pretoria East and Centurion.

Description

Here at "Little Potters School of Clay" we believe that every person, both young and old has an artist within. The key is finding a way to unlock that creativity and develop that natural ability. Children are fearless and once they have realised the forgiving nature of clay, they experiment and let their imaginations run wild. Working with clay not only improves ones confidence, but greatly develops spatial awareness as well. Clay holds infinite possibilities and can be moulded to almost anything your imagination can dream up.

Extra Mural Pottery Classes:
All classes are based on a structured, age appropriate curriculum, which is revised annually to ensure projects remain new and exciting for the students. The curriculum is designed to build and develop both fine and gross motor skills. This curriculum includes hand building techniques such as pinch, coil and slab work.
We believe in combining structured, pre-planned classes, while still allowing children the creative freedom to grow and explore. Roughly 20 projects are completed by the students during the course of the year (An average of 2 per month). The first class involves hand building and the second class painting the bisque fired piece. All projects are hand built by the students using the various methods as mentioned above. Pottery can help your child blossom and excel. Even with physical, emotional or learning challenges, they can experience success in pottery.

Classes are 30 minutes and are held once a week.
Fees: R180 pm/R450 per term/R1800 Annual
*Class fees include all materials

This program includes a series of projects completed using pinch, coil and slab techniques.

Had our first Little Potters experience this morning with friends. What a wonderful time! The staff are so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble and Sasha’s ability to grab a print off a tiny baby is outstanding! We’ve already booked to come back in a couple of weeks and will be back for years to come, I am sure!
Great afternoon out with the little ones. Sasha and the other staff made it really easy and fun for the kids. There is a massive selection of really cute and amazing pottery for you to paint in a variety of different ways. We chose the figurines but there are also plates, cups, clocks and more coming in. You can do hand prints, foot prints or write your own messages and everything in-between. Worried about getting messy? Don't. The paint washes easily off of most clothing and even if you make a mistake/change your mind you can wipe it off the pottery in the early stages. They do food&drink on site, nothing fancy but sandwiches and Toasties with a good range of fillings you can add to are exactly the things you need for this. Coffee for you adults as well There's also a soft play area for the younger ones if/when they get bored halfway through doing one thing for longer than 5 seconds like ours do The photos are of our unglazed efforts they really don't do justice to the finished product and you return a few days later to pick them in all their glazed shinyness which really makes the colours pop. Honestly, if you have an arty child or even just one that likes to give it a good go this is a great little secret tucked away in Murston.
Really lovely place. Good selection of items to paint, all at reasonable prices. The food and drink items are also reasonably priced. Very friendly staff. Small play area for younger children. My 6 year old loved it
Just a great little place to take the kids. I take mine 5 year old and 7 year old regularly. There is the opportunity to paint a piece of pottery, and then the kids can play in the modest soft play. Fair range of lunch/snack options. Lovely service. Really can't fault this place for a nice afternoon to keep the kids busy.
My daughter had her birthday party here on Sunday she thoroughly enjoyed it. I got such nice comments from her friends parents about the good birthday party idea. I wouldn’t have changed a thing or wanted more to celebrate her 8th birthday. Thank you for your unwavering efforts, it did not go unnoticed. Thank you xx
Today was our first visit to Little Potters and is not going to be the last! Sasha is such a passionate lovely owner! She couldn’t have been more helpful! Had a great afternoon and nothing was ever too much hassle! A true assets to Sittingbourne and would urge anyone no matter how old to go and visit! Get your hands dirty and paint your little heart out
Visited here for 2 hours with my 5 year old daughter and her friend. We painted a few things and had a spot of lunch. The lunch menu is very well price and tasty. Facilities are great and enjoyed by all. Worth a visit for anyone who loves crafts and painting.
Amazing place something to do for everyone, wide range of choices at excellent prices. Dedicated owners that make sure that everyone is catered for, baby changing rooms, cafe, play area. Well worth a visit
