We loved it there, it is beautiful & really worth the money spent, we had no problems, the place was clean ,we forgot our charger plug but Lizelle came to our rescue, very friendly staff.Will go again Rooms: Enough space for everyone , clean and tidy, have no complaints Nearby activities: Giant chess, put put, swimming and kiddies jungle gym Safety: We felt safe , didn't even lock our room Walkability: Everything is a walking distance when your on the lodge except the rooms further away

Truely had an relaxing time here... from a comfortable bed through to a well pressured shower. Super staff and neat entertainment areas. Dirt road was in good shape and we enjoyed the hike next to the river. Perfect place to reset and spent family time.Rooms: 5/5

Beautiful place, but the housekeeping is very poor. Dirty bedding, dirty glasses. They promised to serve breakfast Sunday morning, but when plus minus 25 people turned up for breakfast they told us that they had another functioning and they are not going to make us some breakfast. The bar were supposed to be opened till 23h00 but they did close it at 21H00. I WAS THINKING OF TAKING FRIENDS THERE FOR A FEW DAYS BUT AFTER MY EXPERIENCE : NO THANKS.

Good venue for a family getaway. It rained the entire weekend we were there but we still had fun. The roads can be a bit challenging but with careful driving a normal sedan can make the trip. Try to get there during daylight hours as the navigation at night can be challenging.

Neat and clean facilities. Spent some much needed time enjoying nature. Staff was also extremely helpful and friendly. We will definitely visit Markon River Lodge again.Rooms: 5/5

100% recommend! Staff are amazing and very kind. Always there to help if you need something. The game room has a ping pong table and pool table. My family personally spent lots of times upstairs playing ping pong. Doesn't mateer where you stay you always have a great view. The rooms are always clean. And they have services to take out your trash every mornin etc. The river is a great place to catch fish and to socialise with the people that you came with. Definitely family friendly and has activities for everyone! From canoeing to playing putt putt we really enjoyed it all. We saw lots of wildliefe on the game drive and sometimes little bucks would be in our sight from our lodge. We had a BBQ almost everyday as the weather was perfect. One thing you will have to remember is to bring a car that can handle off road as you have to drive about 8 to 10km of dirtroad to get there. The shop has all the essentials you need if you forgot to pack toothpaste etc. In short i think this is a well managed place and would definitiely come back

The tree lodge is an unique experience and literally on the river. Amazing to fall asleep listening to the flowing river just below you. Kids area and pool area address great for the kids.

Although the accommodation is lovely and the bathrooms and rooms were sparkling clean, the managing staff that was present during the day had a clear dislike for what they were doing and were partying harder than the guests. Simple requests were met with excuses and the odd snide remark. If you go here, make sure you have enough wood, ice, towels, drinks, food so that you never have to deal with onsite management.
