They have done quite a nice job of tidying this place up. It's free entry, which is a great idea. You can go in and browse what's there. The rides are basically the same as a typical traveling fun fair. You need to buy tickets to spend in each ride, one ticket costs £1. Each ride is roughly three tickets per person. Children need to be 1.2m tall to be able to ride most rides by themselves. Smaller children can ride several with an adult, but you then have to pay for the adult. The rides are therefore quite expensive. There are plenty of toilets and they are clean, and there is also an open air cinema screen playing films during the day, with nice looking food vans and a bar. Finally, there is an old roller coaster which you need to pay cash to go on and costs £5 per person. This does not allow you to pay in tickets, which is a bit annoying if you've just bought them.
Amazing place with outstanding facilities! Friendly staff and always well coordinated! Had a wonderful time here with a friend and saw a movie production set whilst attending! Great location for hosting many events and they offer great deals with their concert packages. Decent food on site too! Worth a visit!
It was a beautiful sunny day at the end of the school holidays so quiet. Rides great. Staff very attentive. A child on the waltzer didn't like it and the guy stopped the ride immediately and got her off. He then restarted the ride for full time. Interesting art project to find seagulls around the site. Love the retro information about the site. Great for those of us who don't like huge rides.
Saw a concert there last night but unfortunately rather than let folks use the front entrance we were all diverted around the back way, adding 10 mins or more on.. So if the last train is at 11...we had to leave at 10:40 pm meaning we missed the best of Paul Weller! The ladies toilets were clean and the staff pleasant but I wouldn't bother again.
Went for a concert, drinks were pricey £25.50 for a bottle of wine and double gin and tonic was £8.50. But the staff were really nice and helpful. The concert finished earlier than expected and quite abruptly. The experience was good overall.
Lovely beach. Easy drive from London. Parking at the station just £1 on Sunday. Nice fish and chips. You can also get cocktails on the beach. Very busy on a nice day. Our tradition to go back there ever summer. Inflatables weren't allowed due to wind. 2 groups around us got a bit rowdy, as they were doing balloons. Not good, as our kids had to look at that.
This is a really top spot for a club night. Vip is better than normal - mostly for the toilets and undercover if it rains. But atmosphere is best at the front. I've been a few times. Be careful in the rain, it became very exposed and slippery. I managed to break two ribs falling over steps in the wet. Pouring mind you. Love the vibe. Security decent. Toilets more needed especially in the heat of the summer when peeps are drinking loads. Awesome town generally and events well organised and within walking distance of the train.
This is for the Hall by the Sea only. It's A very good rock venue space. A broad airy and cavernous hall with a bar near the back. The stage and audience is large enough for some pretty large and established bands we saw Public Service Broadcasting. It did get quite hot in there and someone opened a side door which went into an outside space. Thinking this was a legitimate exit, a number of people tried to leave when the concert had finished and came upon the band making their way back to the dressing room and promptly getting secondary applause. A good night out and handy for Margate station.
Of course no children will like to leave here on time and some adults too More 5han enough facilities to keep you busy throughout the whole day and something to eat in between available as well. I think it's worth going to be honest! Parking space? Not an issue at all, plenty of parking available.
Dreamland is a great little theme park, bringing back memories for the older and entertainment for the young. Completely free to enter, the park has lots to offer in terms of rides, events, food/drinks and concerts or gigs. I commonly take many visits myself when I can, always having a good time with friends basking in the great Kentish weather. Realistically the only downside of the park is the pricing of rides, especially the iconic Scenic Railway which is £5 per person! I thoroughly recommend a visit if you were thinking of it, but bear in mind the pricing inside the park.
