Maboneng Jeppes Town
"A collection of old manufacturing buildings retrofitted with steel, glass and concrete. These original buildings fitted with welcoming street facing retail, commercial work spaces and artist studios juxtaposed with additions of more unconventional modern architecture rising upwards – making the neighbourhood more dense with additional levels of residential loft apartments and double volume penthouses… This is the making of Maboneng."

Such awesome people! Great vibe even on a Sunday morning. The art is next level. Street photographer's dream with all the characters walking around. Good coffee at Home of the Bean. Good security. A bit of clean up needed on roads.
It's a very nice place to be at especially at night
The main reason I went there was to experience art, culture and shopping but on getting there, the market was closed. Enquired, and no one seems to know when it would be opened. The food vendor right in the court had a wall of art, but nothing exciting. His menu also wasn't impressive... my heart went out to him cause I am not sure how he is running it profitably. On the street itself, there were few sellers of native wears, hand-made bead bags, but nothing fancy. Lots of rooftop restaurants with some of their staff calling on you. Sure, it comes alive at night I would try this, and maybe my rating can change.
Looks good. It's a very busy place. Parking can be a bit of a challenge.
The vibe here is amazing. We booked through AirBnB, that helped in getting the best pictures in the morning when its all quieter. You can walk around to buy art pieces, clothes, different dishes.
Loved the art in the area. I consider walking around Maboneng safe! So you don't necessarily need a guide and you can just follow the green 'M' signs. I did find a guide quite nice to learn more about the area though.
Absolutely vibrant, people are alive there.. photographers are doing a great job by helping keep the memories
Great vibes Less crime Police ‍ officers everywhere for safety Great marketing team they can influence you to purchase their items and take photographs. I ended up buying this beautiful shades and taking photographs I just love Maboneng
Disappointed at how this area isn’t child friendly but it’s a cool place to hang out
I love watching spaces get transformed, visiting from Durban this was a nice experience, as we drove into the road where photographers were hard at work, instantly capturing you upon your arrival sales tactics the image was good so in the moment we posed and paid R20 per image.. lol, I was particularly very unsatisfied with the prices of drinks and food, quite overpriced but from the stories that I was told about how terrible the place was before it was transformed I say thumps up!
